Backcasting to turn goals into 'schedules': The view I am grasping 3 months from now, having completed 100 gratitude letters
Gratitude Letter No. 100: To my future self. The 'schedule' I vowed to on New Year's Eve 2025 has all become reality.
Hello everyone.
For this 100th letter, unlike usual—where I recently wrote a gratitude letter to my past self from 90 days ago in letter 95—this time I would like to write about gratitude toward my future self 90 days from now.
1. End of March 2026. Acknowledging myself for keeping on running
Me at the end of March, how are you feeling now?
I'm sure you've spent the three months since January running forward in your own 'headlong rush' style.
I can clearly see you now, continuing to move forward with all your might.
The experience of suffering from sinusitis at the end of December taught me that 'the body is the capital'.
Don't overdo it, but don't let your passion die out either.
To you, who are welcoming spring with a healthy body, I first want to say, 'Thank you for your hard work'.
2. Grounding and confidence as a 'Professional Coach'
You have achieved astonishing growth in these three months.
The free coaching monitor sessions that started in December.
The 90 days you spent walking alongside the student you met through fate.
Seeing their life change for the better in such a noticeable way through your involvement, you have gained solid confidence as a 'professional coach'.
Those gritty days of facing it desperately every day, learning methods, and repeating practice. That became the foundation and the flesh and blood of your coaching.
The effort you put in back then, moving efficiently and hammering knowledge into your head, was not a mistake.
3. From 'accumulation' to 'reverse calculation'. A boost in thinking
Three months since joining 'Future Self Guidance', the new course by my coaching mentor, Icchi.
The style of acting by reverse-calculating from the 'ideal self that should be' has dramatically updated your thinking, which had previously been an 'accumulation method on the extension of the existing'.
Looking ahead to the 2026 fiscal year, defining 'now' by reverse-calculating from the goal.
This boost in thinking has accelerated your growth speed many times over.
I applaud your decision to correctly seize opportunities for practice and rebuild yourself.
4. The overwhelming results brought by consistency
You, who had never even touched Instagram six months ago, now post so naturally that there is no trace of a beginner left.
I have nothing but gratitude for how vividly you have embodied 'consistency is power'.
And, note. As a result of maintaining the pace until the end of December, you have surpassed 2,000 followers.
I, who once thought even writing a blog was a dream, have polished my writing skills in half a year and gained words that reach many people.
This is not a miracle, but the 'inevitable result' of you continuing to act honestly.
Let's start walking together again toward the next height of 10,000 followers after April.
5. 100 letters of gratitude, to the next story
Today, New Year's Eve 2025. The creation of 100 'Gratitude Letters' is finally complete.
These 100 letters were a sacred ritual to deepen my own introspection and rebuild my life, while simultaneously being an expression of gratitude to others.
I want to continue this journey next year without stopping, spreading the chain of gratitude even deeper and wider.
To everyone who supported me in 2025, and to myself for never giving up. Thank you so much for everything.
In 2026, the best future awaits. Come on, let's start a new version of myself.
[The Ultimate Lesson Learned from Completing 100 Letters]
These are the lessons for turning life around that I gained through writing 100 'Thank-You Letters'.
The future is not something to be predicted, but a 'schedule' created by 'working backward' from your ideal self.
An overwhelming amount of practice—'facing it every day'—is what turns skills into true ability and fosters unwavering professional confidence.
Even in fields where you have no experience (like Instagram or note), honest persistence makes it possible to produce output that changes your life in half a year.
Repeating 'gratitude' and 'self-reflection' 100 times is the most reliable way to purify your subconscious and give yourself a boost toward success.
🤝 Conclusion: See you here again next year
The view I have now, having finished writing 100 letters, shines with a completely different light than before I started. I look forward to your continued support next year. Have a great year!
What is the 'schedule' you want to achieve by the end of March 2026?
Why not declare it here and now as a 'schedule' rather than a 'goal'?
Also, if you felt anything while reading this 100-letter series, please let me know in the comments.
