What I realized by focusing entirely on Threads: ◯◯ and ▢▢ get drained
This time, I will talk about the theme of
“To do social media seriously, you need ◯◯ and ▢▢.”
For about the past month, I have been
putting off updating my note,
and focusing entirely on
a social media platform called “Threads.”
Threads...
roughly speaking,
it is currently attracting a lot of attention
as a text-based social media platform like X.
People say,
“If you gather customers on Threads,
your paid note articles will sell~”
so I decided to give it a try.
And, after giving it my all for about a month,
here is what I found.
It is...
Super exhausting.
“Keeping this up
is impossible for me~”
is what I thought f^^
Why?
This time,
for those who are thinking, “I want to try Threads,”
or “I’m interested in Threads x note,”
I will share what I felt
after actually trying it out.
◯◯ that melts away in the blink of an eye
In order to
increase impressions
or gain followers on Threads,
a certain number of posts becomes necessary.
There is information saying, “You need to post at least 10 times a day,”
so I work hard to post.
Also,
it is said that “interacting with other users is important,”
so I go around “liking” posts,
and “replying” to others.
Well, when you do things like this,
time melts away in the blink of an eye.
Basically, it takes me
time to think about writing.
To create a single post,
I groan and struggle,
and sometimes it takes about 10 minutes.
If that happens, just making 10 posts
takes nearly 2 hours.
While I've been posting,
and although I've gotten quite used to it,
the idea of having topics pop into my head one after another,
and being in a state where I can write sentences fluently,
seems like it will take quite a long time f^^
Also,
to research things like,
what kind of posts are going viral?
I end up looking at other people's posts.
This, even more quickly,
melts away my time.
While scrolling through the screen,
10 or 15 minutes of time
disappear in the blink of an eye.
Saying I'm doing it to create posts,
or to do research,
I'm glued to my smartphone all day long.
In the end,
my daughter even cried, saying, 'You're always on your phone. I hate you, Daddy.'
It reached that point.
At first,
I thought I'd just do it in my spare time,
but once I started,
I ended up in a situation where I was
doing chores and childcare in my spare time,
which is completely putting the cart before the horse.

▢▢ gets drained by other people's posts
While using Threads,
besides time, there is one other thing that got drained.
That is, my mental state.
When you're trying to grow your SNS presence,
and you're looking at your smartphone all the time,
you inevitably see other people's posts.
This is the most exhausting part.
'I earned ◯◯,000 yen this month'
'I achieved 0 to 1 in ◯ days'
Every time I open my smartphone screen,
things like this keep flowing in one after another.
This happens on any SNS,
but it might be easier to see on Threads
than on other SNS.
The reason is,
because the algorithm is set up so that
'posts similar to the ones you've viewed are likely to be displayed,'
once you view a post like
'I earned ◯0,000 yen, yahoo!',
after that, similar posts
become easier to appear.
When you are collecting information about side hustles or making money,
these kinds of posts inevitably
end up catching your eye.
When you do that, you naturally
end up exposed to comparing yourself with others
.
This is truly exhausting...
I was
quite focused
on my efforts,
so I was
getting decent results.
For example,
・I made posts with over 10,000 views in one week
・I increased my followers fourfold in two weeks
・My paid note sold on its release day
Compared to a month ago,
these are numbers that show real progress.
Of course, I was happy.
I studied properly,
formed a hypothesis like "Will this get results?"
acted on it, and even if it was a small amount, I got results.
I was really, truly happy.
(↓I also wrote about this in detail in this article)
But even when I thought "I did it!"
the feed is overflowing with posts reporting results that cancel out that joy
.
Even when I rejoiced at finally getting over 10,000 views after posting about 20 times a day for a week
↓
Over 100,000 impressions on my 3rd post! Threads is amazing!
Even when I rejoiced at finally managing to increase my followers from 30 to 120 over two weeks
↓
Over 200 followers in 3 days! Everyone is so kind.💓
Even when I rejoiced at finally selling my paid note after a month of preparation
↓
My first note sales exceeded 50,000 yen! Amazing!
and so on...
Anyway, every time I open the app,
like a never-ending stream of wanko soba,
posts just keep flowing one after another.
I'm already stuffed, honestly.
Your self-esteem will get shredded, (lol).
To you, who are thinking about starting Threads:
Threads is currently the SNS
attracting the most attention.
Since it's an SNS that will grow from here on,
if you strengthen your account now,
I think it will be useful later on.
Also,
“Gathering people on Threads and
having them buy paid note articles”
creating a flow like this
is not that difficult.
Having tried it myself, I think,
“Even if it's just 100 yen,
I want to try earning money on my own for now”
for people like that,
I think it's a relatively easy method to try.
So,
if I'm asked, “Do you think I should do Threads?”
I answer without hesitation,
“You should do it!”
However, if you get the way you interact with it wrong,
like a shaved ice machine,
your time and mental health will be drained, so
you need to be careful about that.
For now, as for me,
after facing Threads with all my might for a month,
I decided to change how I interact with it.
I think I'll keep a little distance.
It is something I can say
because I tried it, but
for the time being, I intend to pour more than 90% of my energy
into my note and newsletter readers.
Because I was able to confirm once again thatthat is what suits me bestand
it is the way I canprovide the most valueto everyone.
You, too,
please find a way of sharing
that suits you.
Taakun

However, personally,
I feel that “note x newsletter”
is more recommended
in terms of both time performance and mental health.
