[blog] 42. So, bone density can actually increase
Last week, I had my bone density measured for the first time in a while.
It had been three and a half years since I last went to an orthopedic clinic.
A dull pain had developed in my elbow, and it was surprisingly painful.
I can't remember how many years ago it was, but I had tennis elbow once,
and I was concerned because the pain felt similar.
As usual, after I finished getting my placenta injection,
I was thinking about heading home, but I suddenly realized I had some extra time.
I thought,
"Oh, right!"
"Maybe I should stop by the orthopedic clinic in the same building while I'm at it?"
I decided on the spur of the moment, and had my aching elbow examined.
Actually, when I started placenta and hormone therapy,
I had visited this orthopedic clinic to have my bone density measured.
The doctor suggested,
"It's been a while, so why don't you get your bone density measured too?"
"No, I'm not having any trouble right now..."
"I'm already on hormone therapy, so I don't really need to check it..."
I honestly thought things like that in my heart, but,
"Wait a minute,"
"I probably won't be coming to an orthopedic clinic again, will I?"
"Unless something major happens, I won't come, right?"
"If that's the case, I won't be measuring it for a while, will I?"
Once I thought that, the words
"Yes, okay... I'll have it measured!"
just came out of my mouth.
I wrote an article on note about the time I had my bone density measured before.
I had a series of toe fractures, and then I fractured a rib...
My blood pressure and cholesterol levels from my health checkup went up,
and I wondered if this was due to female hormones,
which led me to start visiting a women's clinic.
At the time, my bone density levels came back low,
and I was shocked to be told I was suspected of having osteoporosis! 😳
It made me think I should take care of my bones,
and I was able to take action to start menopause treatment.
That's what that record is about.
My femur levels were bad,
and my lumbar spine was barely hanging on, too.
The results this time were...
My lumbar spine is above the standard value compared to my age group!!
Oh! I'm so happy! ✨ Twinkle~
The problematic femur is the same as my age group!
Wow! I did it! ✨ It went up! ♪
"So it can actually go up,"
I couldn't help but say to the doctor, haha
Maybe it's thanks to the increased estrogen♡
It's true, when female hormones disappear,
you have to worry about your bones.
As a child, I was a picky eater, hated dairy products,
hated seafood, so where was I getting my calcium?
It feels like that, so I'm worried about my bones...
I often hear that when you get old, you fall and break a bone,
and end up bedridden,
my grandmother also fell, had an artificial joint put in her femur,
and I used to drive her around.
Bones are important, aren't they.
I thought hormone therapy was just preventing a decline,
but it turns out,
it went up♡
Yes, I still want to stay young✨
So, I've started exercising again, too♪
I've been back to dancing since last month✨🕺🎵
It's full of people I don't know and young kids now,
but memorizing the choreography is good brain training😂
I think my body can still move well, lol.
Because I have things I've cultivated for a long time.
Though, trendy moves are difficult, lol.
Everyone, let's not neglect body maintenance,
and take care of our health!✨
