Resonite World Introduction [Steel Assault Protocol]
Hello everyone! I'm Sumutemi, the meta-creator!
This time, I will introduce "Steel Assault Protocol," a world I created and submitted for the MMC (Metaverse Maker Competition) using a projector!

MMC is a metaverse event held on the VRSNS platform Resonite, where participants create worlds and compete over a one-month period.
The 2025 edition was held from February to March!

Steel Assault Protocol
I produced the PV video for this world. I remember filming and editing this video in a rush about a day before the production deadline.

Steel Assault Protocol is a shooting ride action game where you can experience robot combat against the "Chronos," a robot army that has turned hostile after receiving incorrect orders in a future where humanity has expanded into space.

When you enter the world, there is an area at the beginning that explains the world's setting and game mechanics. I made sure it's impossible to miss, especially since those prone to VR motion sickness need to be careful.

After passing through the door and entering the hangar, you can choose the coloring and three types of armaments for the large robot weapon "Metallix" that you pilot. It switches in real-time and is quite impressive.

Once settings are complete, pressing the switch triggers an alarm, and the player is instructed to board the Metallix as a pilot before launching from the hangar.

Once the game starts, you can pilot the Metallix and fire its weapons to head out and annihilate the enemy AI army, the Chronos. Please play the world to experience how the scenario unfolds. The content lasts about 10 minutes.

The Metallix is designed for only two players, and any third player or beyond can participate in a remote support shooting game from inside the hangar.
I wanted to play together, but it would be strange to have too many crew members, so this is the design we went with.
World Production Making-of
For MMC world production, gathering members and discussing the content to be created is permitted before the production period begins. However, actual work such as creating data and modeling must be done within the period. You don't have to create everything from scratch, and you are free to use various assets as long as you provide proper credit. Note that paid assets that prohibit redistribution cannot be used.
[ Production Making-of Movie ]
I have created a making-of movie showing the production process. You can see the meetings and the work in progress. Resonite has features equivalent to a game development engine within the VR platform, allowing us to create things while gathered in the same space.

Production begins with me setting and sharing the "vision," "purpose," and "goals" while incorporating everyone's opinions on what they want to create.
If it becomes unclear what impact the creation will have or why we are doing this, communication troubles will arise.
Even looking back now, I feel that the goal of "reflecting each member's unique talents" was truly achieved.

Once the image of what we are creating is shared and opinions are gathered, I use that information to write up a project proposal, from the world concept to the game specifications. Since this proposal must be written after the MMC begins, I write down almost all the images in my head on the very first day.

Roughly speaking, based on the proposal created on the first or second day, we decide on roles and production periods, and everyone moves on to their tasks. I often fill in the gaps in areas where others cannot work, even if I'm not entirely sure how to do it.

From here on, I would like to introduce the other three members and the work they have created.
Modeling & Design: Maki Kouyouju

Maki-san ( https://x.com/maki_kouyouju ) always focuses on the parts that users see directly, from design and world-building composition to detailed modeling and world direction.

I also sketch out rough image illustrations and setting materials, but all the designs and atmospheres applied to the world are created with Maki-san's sense.

The direction provided to users through these various designs often exceeds my own imagination and creates a high level of perfection.

Furthermore, Maki-san is in charge of all the design and modeling for the enemy, Chronos.
She has brilliantly created a sense of visual unity and variety for each attack pattern.

Modeling: chappy9
Chappy-san ( https://x.com/chappy9_CG ) was invited by me to join the team this time, and this is his first time being involved. Even before entering the VR scene, he made a living creating 3D models and possesses the ability to create extremely high-precision models.

Chappy-san has always had a high interest in content such as robots and mechs, and for this production, he handled the modeling of the main unit, Metalix.

Furthermore, he produced the animations for the hangar design and the movements during launch and return. The fact that many people are moved by the movements when boarding Metalix and the view from the cockpit is thanks to these animations.

Programming: MarkN
This is the team SUMA coordinator, MarkN ( https://x.com/markn_chansan )!
He has created everything related to programming, from the gimmicks in this world to game behavior, score calculation, and sound effect specifications.

In team productions like this, MarkN's work process inevitably ends up being downstream, so he works until late at night on the final day. Thank you as always.

Also, when I think about planning and concepts, I consult with him on whether an idea can be implemented, and he listens to my many selfish requests when actually building it, which has led to the realization of this world in many ways.

The things he actually produced are wide-ranging, from the entrance door opening/closing system to the system that moves animations at a specified time and speed, shooting during the game, movements to defeat enemies, score calculation during that process, and even the support shooting system from the hangar; MarkN is involved in almost everything that moves in the world.
Project Leader: Sumutemi
As for what I was doing, the biggest thing was supervising and making decisions on what everyone was creating. When doing this kind of team production, there are frequent opportunities where decisions must be made, such as "what to do in this case," "what to focus on," or "what to cut."

There is a lot of management-like content involved in maintaining a certain direction. Especially since others are doing the production, I must try not to miss important elements while making immediate decisions without hesitation.

When we reach the latter half of the dates, I also decide what to cut if it is difficult to implement.
Also, when there are areas that everyone is not good at or that are difficult in terms of time, I create them even if I don't know what I'm doing.
In this world, I created the voice audio during game progression, map construction, enemy placement, and shooting particles.

Summary
This time, I have put together an introduction and making-of for the 'Steel Assault Protocol' world!
The works I submit for this MMC are things I could never create on my own, so I am helped by everyone every time!
Regarding this work, I feel I may have added a bit too much volume, so my reflection is that I may have relied on everyone's help a little too much.
I will continue to create interesting works, so please support me!
