[Participants Wanted] English Speaking Community | Deep Talk Café is Opening!
Thank you for reading kuro's note.
I am currently conducting the "Escape from Perpetual Intermediate English" experimental project and documenting my progress on note.
In this project, I am focusing specifically on "spoken English." As part of this project, I have decided to launch an "English speaking community."
I received several positive comments about joining the community in past articles, which really encouraged me. It is thanks to my interactions with all of you followers that I was able to take this action. Thank you so much.
Please check the following details regarding this community. I have provided information on the community's vision, activity details, management methods, and how to join.

1. Deep Talk Café— Opening Statement

"Last Mile Connection"
You have learned the grammar and can hold a conversation to some extent.
But how often have you felt that you were "truly understood"?
This community deals with the "last mile" to the other person.
― Our Principles ―
Be curious about others
Express your thoughts
Build connections
At our own pace,
using English to properly connect with people.
That is our theme.
2. About the Deep Talk Café Community
This is not a place to "study" English, but
a community to gain experience in "talking deeply with others" in English.
There are no English teachers here.
It is a place where we talk to and learn from each other.
We aim for:
Small talk that flows naturally
Being able to express your thoughts in 1 to 2 minutes
Able to engage in conversation with interest in others
This is a place where such people gather.
3. Activity Style
We operate mainly on an asynchronous basis (participate at your preferred time).
Conversation sessions will be held at scheduled times.
▼ Daily Activities
One post per day recommended on Discord (text or audio)
English interactions with other members
▼ Weekly Conversation Session (Optional)
Time: Expected 20:00–21:00 (JST)
Content: Free conversation in groups of about 3 people
4. Current Recruitment (Founding Members)
First, we are looking for people to join as founding members (free).
Duration: Approximately 1 month
Number of people: 10
Recruitment period: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 – Sunday, May 17
▼ Prerequisites for Participation
Willing to try speaking even if not perfect
Able to engage in conversation with interest in others
Willing to participate at least once a week
▼ About the Founding Member Recruitment Period
We will close registration either when we reach "the first 10 participants" or after "10 days from the public announcement."
Whichever comes first.
5. About the plan after one month
For those who wish to continue, we plan to offer a paid plan.
Member: 2000 yen per month
Founder: 500 yen per month (lifetime)
I made the decision to charge a fee because I want this to be a sustainable initiative.
6. About the Founder system
From among the initial members, I will ask for those interested and, after considering participation frequency and other factors, I will offer them the opportunity to join as a Founder.
Founders are core members who will help build up this community together. They will be expected to perform tasks such as "welcoming new members," "actively facilitating conversations," and "conveying our principles."
7. How to join
Please comment on this article or send me a DM.
Once confirmed, I will invite you to Discord.
8. Conclusion
What I value most, even more than whether or not you can speak English, is
“engaging with others in English.”
It is okay if you cannot speak perfectly or fluently.
We bridge the gap between each other with words and try to understand the other person deeply.
I started this because I wanted to create a place where people with that kind of mindset could gather.
While valuing your own authentic self,
let's cross the "last one mile" between us together.
