Please let me stay, even if it's just in the hallway
Hotel prices in Tokyo had become outrageous.
As I looked at my business trip schedule and searched, I let out an involuntary cry.
“So expensive!”
Even for a business hotel, they were costing twenty or thirty thousand yen a night.
I decided to take a chance and contacted my younger brother.
“Can you let me stay over?”
His reply came quickly.
“No way, it’s a mess.”
Well, I knew that.
No matter when I visit my brother’s place, I can never see the floor.
In the past, he would explain with a different reason every time, like “I’ve been a bit busy lately” or “I’ve caught a cold,” but since I’ve visited ten times and couldn’t see the floor all ten times, I’ve recently started looking forward to what kind of excuse he’ll come up with next.
However, hotel prices are high.
I persisted.
“I’m fine with a sleeping bag in the hallway.”
Then my brother said:
"I can't, my wife and son are sleeping in the hallway."
The hallway was fully booked, too.
I started to worry that everyone might catch a cold.
I hoped that the bedroom would become vacant before winter arrived.

Here are the differences in how the two of us tidy up.
"My brother, who uses the floor for storage, and me, who uses the closet."
I will continue to write about these small fragments of daily life.
If you'd like, I would be happy if you could keep watching over me with a like or a follow 😊
