December 1992 issue vs. January 1993 issue: A comparison of reading Comptiq
Overview
This is a revised edition of 'Just Reminiscing About Record of Lodoss War,' which was distributed at Game Treasure 6!
'Record of Lodoss War' was serialized in the 'fighting PC game magazine' Comptiq.
The content is simply about reminiscing about 'Record of Lodoss War' while re-reading back issues of Comptiq.
It generally covers the period from the start of the replay serialization in the September 1986 issue to the December 1992 issue.
However, since I became curious about the context before and after while re-reading, I have also included information from the inaugural issue up to around 1993, as well as some recent developments.

Since it's a special occasion, I asked the printing company to make it a full-color perfect-bound book!

As it is a revised edition, 'December 1992 issue vs. January 1993 issue: A comparison of reading Comptiq' has also been included as a combined volume.

Also, as an extra episode, I have summarized the changes in the OVA bonuses seen in Comptiq advertisements.
Until now, I had assumed that the bonus for purchasing all volumes of the OVA was a special binder that could also serve as a master screen.
It seems there was also an 'original wooden rack with a logo mark.'
I will look at how these bonuses changed based on the advertisements published in Comptiq.

When re-reading Comptiq, it is clear that 'Record of Lodoss War' at the time was not just limited to replay articles, but was steadily paving the way for media mix expansion.
I mean, around the December 1992 issue, it was right in the middle of that media mix development.
In the first place, the final volume of the novel version, 'Record of Lodoss War 7: The Holy Knight of Lodoss (Part 2),' was released in April 1993.
The TV anime hadn't started yet, and the consumer game version was just the PC Engine version released in July 1992. That was the kind of time it was.
I hope you will join me in reminiscing about the old days while re-reading old Comptiq issues.
Also, I am writing a blog that tracks Comptiq articles to create an index, so please check that out as well.
Additionally, I have written about topics that could not be included due to space constraints in the magazine in my previous note, so please take a look at that if you are interested.
