[Post Pickup Vol. 1] Introducing articles for "#LetMeTalkAboutTheObsessionIHaveFallenInto"
Hello everyone.
We have been accepting submissions since February 22nd for the topic “#LetMeTalkAboutTheObsessionIHaveFallenInto”.
I am reading through them carefully one by one, and I am reminded once again of the “variety” and “depth” of these obsessions every single day. Wow... every single obsession is just so deep!!! (lol)
From here on, I would like to introduce a few selected articles from those submitted over the next several installments!

Speaking of "obsessions," there is "Oshi-katsu."
This post introduces “recommendations for Oshi-katsu” asking what is so good about a life that includes such a "favorite."
We, of course, get thrills and excitement from our favorites, but
there are encounters sparked by our favorites, and we grow because of their influence. Looking back, they have had quite an impact on our lives.
(It’s scary to think about the people I wouldn't have become friends with and the life choices I wouldn't have made if I hadn't fallen into this obsession... (lol))
In this topic submission as well, there were many people who said
“my life and lifestyle changed because I fell into this obsession.”
I am who I am today because I fell into this obsession
I truly thought, "So this kind of world existed."
Even as an adult, there are moments when you discover a world you never knew existed until now.
After going to a BiSH concert, I came to love the six members. This was also a first-time feeling.
It was the first time I had ever wanted to support people called idols.
First concert, first time supporting an idol—and before you know it, it becomes a source of sustenance for your daily life and your life itself.
The hearts that were saved, the friends with whom you shared feelings, and the emotions you gained will remain forever, even if the activities are not eternal.
The last single “Bye-Bye Show” written by Yoshii-san of THE YELLOW MONKEY is also incredibly cool.
There was definitely something there that transcended winning and losing.
What could it be? I thought about it, and in the end, I returned to the starting point.
They always get back up.
That, after all, was the core of why I like professional wrestling.
And one more thing.
The fans who believe in the wrestlers and cheer for them desperately, no matter how cornered they are.
Sports is also an obsession that brings us a reason for living.
While the "win" or "loss" as a result of sports is certainly important,
there is also a lot of drama in the process, the "way of winning," and the "way of losing" based on that, and that is precisely why we want to believe in them, cheer for them, and feel moved.
For me, Shirotan is family, a friend, a partner, and a confidant who has spent every day with me since we first met.
Because I'm with Shirotan, I can go anywhere and talk to people I've just met—there is a power in "having something you love" that makes you feel light on your feet, isn't there?
(Along with that, my purse strings also loosen... but that's fine! If anything, I want them to be loose! (?))
"Family, friend, partner, and confidant" is a wonderful way to put it.
(*I learned for the first time that Shirotan enthusiasts are called "Shirotanist").
Obsessions, this and that
There are as many obsessions as there are types of content—.
We will also introduce various obsessions from different circles submitted for this theme.
I think there are many reasons why people fall into an obsession, but one of them is "the gap." I, too, fell into the obsession after learning about the gap between the sparkly image I had of King & Prince and their
hard-hitting songs(as well as the stoicism that elevates them to the best performance, and the artist-like way they intentionally choose their songs and staging), and the gap of their natural, boys-school-like camaraderie, so I read this with great empathy.
Even if we call it an "obsession," the object of it can be not just people, but anything at all.
We have received many posts about obsessions related to "things," so I would like to introduce them.
On a personal note, I had the opportunity to go to Okayama at the same time I was reading the articles, so I got some Bizen ware that is said to keep beer foam creamy. It's said to be highly durable, and I'm using it for everything—drinking beer, coffee, and water—I love it! (lol)

The conclusion I reached after making tofu is this.
The soy milk sold at the supermarket is tastier than the soy milk I made myself, and
the tofu sold at the supermarket is tastier than the tofu I made myself.
The insight you gain only after you start liking tofu,
start eating all kinds of tofu,
and start making tofu yourself!
This carries more weight than just thinking in your head from the start that (store-bought is probably better).
Also, I looked it up after reading the article and learned that there are actually more tofu shops around us than I thought!
I only ever paid attention to whether it was "silken" or "firm" and would just toss it into my supermarket basket without thinking, so next time I'll try buying from a tofu shop.
A Guidebook to the Entrance of the Obsession
Among the posts we received, there were also guidebook-like posts that felt like something you'd want to attach to the sign of an obsession, saying, "Read this first if you're going to enter the obsession."
"Brush Up Life" is interesting, isn't it? (There were also many posts about the "Brush Up Life" obsession. I, who repeat the cycle of "watch live -> watch again on recording" every week, might also be a resident of that obsession...)
Using that "Brush Up Life" as an entrance, "time leap stories" were introduced in this post.
Time Leap
A pattern where only one's consciousness travels through time and space to inhabit one's past or future self. The protagonist solves problems while traveling through time and space.
Ex) The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Time Loop
Repeating the same day or the same week over and over again. One cannot travel through time with their own consciousness, and it is basically a story about how to escape from that repetition.
Ex) Mondays
Time Travel
A pattern where not only consciousness but also the physical body travels through time and space. Like time leaps, they often travel to the past or future to solve problems. The difference from a time leap is that since the physical body moves, there is a risk of meeting one's past or future self. (I wonder what happens if you meet. Do you die, I wonder?)
Ex) Back to the Future
*From here on, I will collectively refer to these three as time leap stories.
Certainly, even if you just say "fantasy works that consume time," there are many different ways that time is handled, aren't there? (When I hear "time loop," I think of the Haruhi Suzumiya series' "Endless Eight".)
Since the charm of "time leap" stories and recommended works are introduced here, please consider these as candidates for what to watch after "Brush Up Life." ("MONDAYS", I really wanted to watch that.)
By the way, I think many people watching "Brush Up Life" are imagining, "If I were to live my life a second time..."
It sounds fun to spend my childhood with my consciousness intact, but when I imagine doing short-distance running again, or swimming during a season that is clearly still too cold, I thought, "No, I think I'll pass on a second round..." (I'm not good at sports)
▼ Director Mamoru Oshii's Urusei Yatsura: "Beautiful Dreamer" is a "loop story," isn't it!
▼ It just so happened to be the broadcast timing for "Endless Eight"
"Metaverse Rabbit Hole" This post could serve as a guidebook. Just reading it once conveys the charm of life in the metaverse.
Beyond the obvious charms like "beautiful graphics," "you can do anything," and "meeting people from far away,"
The charm of the metaverse,
this is something I feel because I've been playing for two years, but
"the peace of mind that I can always come back here" is what I love.
My life in the metaverse consists of saying good morning on Twitter and the like in the morning, and chatting or playing for an hour or two at night. I even talk about my family structure with close friends.
That relationship has lasted two years. I think it's incredibly deep.
A place you can return to if something happens doesn't have to be your parents' home or the countryside.
It can be in the metaverse!!!
I am grateful that I was able to meet friends I can trust in the metaverse to the point where I can think that.
"A place to return to"—a place like a hometown can be created in the metaverse.
Even if your place of comfort isn't necessarily your home or within your relationships with people in the real world, you can create it yourself. I thought, what a wonderful era we've reached.
The last one for the first installment is this post introducing the "Sesame Street Rabbit Hole".
Among the programs broadcast on SKY PerfecTV!, there are "programs that are actually for small children, but are secretly hitting home with the parents watching along", and I thought this "Sesame Street" could also be called content that is interesting for adults to watch (in many ways).
(The "surreal episodes" also have stories that are so out there, they slowly grow on you)
I want to go to various mysterious places but
I wouldn't want to live there forever
(omitted)
I want to look at the Earth from above but
I'd probably miss the people and places I love
Warm lyrics!
And aren't these lyrics that really hit the core of the matter?
New experiences and exciting experiences are necessary in life, but I want to cherish the current happiness and peace of mind as a "place to return to."
(I want to read through various other Sesame Street lyrics too)
Thank you so much for all the posts to "#LetMeTalkAboutTheRabbitHoleYouFellInto" so far!
I would like to continue picking them up and introducing them in the second installment and beyond.
The submission project period continues until the 23rd of this month, March.
I would be happy if you could tell me about the rabbit holes you've fallen into, as many as you like, as many times as you like! I'm enjoying reading them every day!
Well then, thank you for reading until the end today as well.
▼SKY PerfecTV! broadcasts all kinds of obsession-worthy content.
