A Workshop Where Emotions Sleeping Deep Inside Were Revived
Through the participants' output
“Online Retreat to Re-examine How We Live in Mind and Body”
Part 2.
Let it all out, keep letting it out! (lol)
A session to express your current feelings in your own words.
Click here for impressions from the 5/10 (Sat) class.
The 5/18 (Sun) class with the same content has successfully concluded.
When the participants change, naturally the atmosphere and the content of the output change as well.
This time, I would like to talk about how a certain phrase from a participant triggered emotions I had long locked away deep in my heart to surface.

Words spoken over 20 years ago suddenly came back to me
This workshop is a session where participants express their feelings freely based on a theme I provided in advance.
When a participant revealed her own feelings as a mother, I felt a surge of empathy, thinking
“Oh... I understand that so well!!!”
That was the moment.
Words suddenly came back from out of nowhere.
It was a story from over 20 years ago, and I thought it had been erased from my memory.
Even though I hadn't thought about it until now,
I felt a strange sensation as those words and emotions suddenly welled up.
A casual remark made by a neighbor
“Oh my, were you out having fun while your husband was working so hard?
What about the kids? Not yet? How elegant of you~”
I think it was when I was still a newlywed.
It happened when I was returning from a flower arrangement class,
which was my only joy that I attended twice a month at the time.
It was a remark made by a neighbor I happened to run into.
Don't you think that's quite destructive? (bitter laugh)
I married into my husband's hometown of Saitama from Kanagawa Prefecture,
and I had no friends or acquaintances around me.
All I had were my husband's relatives...
It became difficult to continue working in Tokyo as I had been doing,
so I quit my job and became a full-time housewife.
My small joy in such a life was the twice-monthly flower arrangement class.
I felt very healed when touching flowers, and I was happy to be able to decorate my home with flowers I had arranged myself.
Of course, my husband also supported it.
The curse of “how things should be”
If it were now, I might be able to lightly brush it off in my heart by thinking, "Does this have anything to do with you?"
(Though I'm sure it would still make me angry... haha)
But for my younger self, it was a very heavy, heavy remark.
"This is how a wife should be"
Looking back, I feel like that was the remark that started to possess me like a curse.
I was surrounded only by my husband's acquaintances and relatives.
There was no one on my side... perhaps that situation
made me suffer even more.
Through this workshop, emotions that I thought I had forgotten, but in fact hadn't,
emotions that had been sleeping deep in my memory were revived...
Thanks to everyone's output, I had a valuable experience facing the emotions I had locked away.
The next session, on 6/7 (Sat) and 15 (Sun), will be the final one.
