The Day the Scenery Changed Just a Little
Before I knew it, I had been sitting here a little longer than usual.
I opened my screen during a quiet moment, just like always,
and even though it should have been the same place, the scenery looked just a little different.
My follower count had exceeded 500.
To be honest, it doesn't feel quite real yet.
But when I saw that number, what came to mind was
each and every "like" and "follow",
and the presence of someone quietly reading my words.
The reason I have been able to continue this far
is undoubtedly because there were people reading.
Pressing the like button.
Following me.
Quietly adding my posts to a magazine.
Each one of those actions has quietly encouraged me.
Thank you, truly.
In truth, I would like to properly thank each and every one of you,
but I am sorry that I haven't been able to keep up with everything.
Even so, I have properly received the feelings you sent.
None of them are things that just drift away,
and each time, my heart warms up just a little.
The reason I write in this place
is also to gently scoop up
the feelings I cannot put into words well.
When I feel a little tired, even though I don't dislike people.
When I want the quiet of being alone after spending time with someone.
During those times,
I write in the hope that I can leave behind something
that might let you pause for a moment.
I am sure things won't change much from here on out,
and I think I will continue to quietly place my words here just the same.
When you feel a little tired, or
when you feel like stopping for a moment for no particular reason,
I would be happy if this could be a place you remember.
Gently feeling grateful that I have made it this far.
I will continue to wait for you in the same place.
