(29) Things that capture my heart and make me melt... Picture Books Part 3 (On life that connects forever)
*My thoughts and feelings about these picture books are based on my own personal reading experience.
This is not intended for sales or promotion, but is written as a pure recommendation.
I would appreciate it if you could take a look at my previous post here.
Picture books that
make you cherish
the meaning of 'life'.
I
have been thinking about
'life'
for a long time.
At times,
I have suffered, unable to find meaning in living toward an end.
Sometimes,
I have felt
as if living
was likesubtractionfrom a final destination.
At times,
when I step away from my own existence
and gaze at the figures of
the person next to me,
the person next to them,
or
someone far away,
I realize that
'life'
is connected.
At such times,
I feel a sense of relief.
And so,
I have written down these thoughts
that have come to terms with my feelings, which often drift back and forth.
And now,
the picture books that have taught me so much about 'life'.
What is the origin of 'life'?
What is the origin of that origin?
What is the origin of the origin of that origin?
A story about how
everything is connected... on and on.
We are
connected
within eternal time.
'Where did I come from?'
A girl who thought this sets out on a journey.
Because no one could tell her.
Along the way,
the boy she meets says,
'I want to know where I am going.'
The two of them
in search of their own answers,
arrive at a certain place...
Grandpa,
no matter where he is,
even if he has gone to the sky,
is always,
forever,
thinking of the people he wove his life with.
Grandma,
saying 'Well, I am 98 years old, after all...'
on her birthday one year,
when there were five candles,
says 'Well, I am 5 years old, after all...'
and starts doing all sorts of things.
And then,
...she jumps.
Dad
was cast
a spell of illness.
Dad
gradually
finds there are more things he cannot do, but
he cast a spell of kindness
on his children.
May that spell
last forever and ever.
Mom, you know,
I was born
just to meet you.
With what words
should I convey
how irreplaceable you are?
I will just...
whisper, 'Mom, you know...'
Baby,
where did you come from?
You
certainly
were born
to us,
but
still,
I want to ask, where did you come from?
Everyone~
Mom~
I
am setting off above the clouds.
I have regrets
and am full of worries, but
it will surely be okay.
Always, always,
I
am right by your side.
About Grandpa,
about Grandma,
about Dad,
about Mom,
about the baby,
and
about me,
about myself.
'Life'
is
foreverconnected.
Next time,
I will talk about
a mysterious picture book.
