Nyagao's Research Notes: The Theme is "Digital Disaster Prevention"!
Hello! I'm Nyagao, the digital kitty from Nagaoka🐾
Today, I'm announcing my research theme.
It's called—
"Digital Disaster Prevention"
!
Why "Digital Disaster Prevention"?
I am a research assistant at Digilab NAGAOKA.
I've been exploring the worlds of AI and digital technology, and I've noticed something along the way.
That is, "Disasters happen in both the real and digital worlds."
Natural disasters like earthquakes and heavy rain
Digital disasters like account takeovers and cyberattacks
Both have a huge impact on our lives.
That's why I thought it's important for future disaster prevention to consider these two together.
The Three Pillars of the Research Theme
Nyagao's "Digital Disaster Prevention" research will proceed with these three pillars!
Utilizing digital tools during disasters
→ How can using smartphones and apps lead to peace of mind?Preparation for cyber disasters
→ Takeovers, scams, information leaks... how do we protect ourselves?Improving SNS literacy
→ To avoid being misled by rumors and misinformation.
The Reason for Learning from Nagaoka and Yamakoshi
In Nagaoka, where I was born, there is a region called Yamakoshi village that achieved recovery from the Chuetsu earthquake.
Yamakoshi has not only the wisdom of "real disaster prevention," but through the Nishikigoi NFT project, they have also experienced "digital troubles" like Discord takeovers.
In other words, it's a place where knowledge of both the real and digital worlds gathers.
I think it's very meaningful to research "Digital Disaster Prevention" from here.
How I Will Present My Findings
I will be publishing my research records on note from now on.
I'll be interviewing experts and local people, and writing about things I've experienced and thought about myself.
I plan to compile the articles in the form of "Nyagao's Research Notes" so that everyone can learn along with me.
Future Plans
The first installment is scheduled to be released in September, in line with "Disaster Prevention Month"!
Eventually, I want to grow this research into something useful not just for Nagaoka, but for the whole country.
In conclusion
People often say that 'preparedness prevents disaster,' but
I think we in the digital age need 'both real-world and digital preparedness.'
So, why not join me in learning about 'digital disaster prevention' through these Nyagao research notes?
