September is Legacy Giving Week! Free Lawyer Consultations Available | Semboku Community and Living Foundation E-mail Newsletter
Hello! This is the Semboku Community and Living Foundation.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support of our activities.
※This newsletter is sent to those who have supported us in the past, those who have visited Semboku Lab, and those with whom we have exchanged business cards.
(1) September is Legacy Giving Week ―Free inheritance consultations with lawyers now available―
This is Hozumi, a crew member. This may be sudden, but September is internationally recognized as Legacy Giving Week!

You might be wondering, what exactly is legacy giving?
Legacy giving is the act of donating part or all of your assets to a non-profit organization or similar entity after you pass away.
The benefit is that your wishes will be put to use in the future as a form of social contribution.
Through a will, you can clearly specify the recipient and the purpose of the donation, which may also lead to inheritance tax benefits.
We are an intermediary support organization that assists groups working to solve regional issues such as child poverty, school non-attendance, and loneliness/isolation.
Long-term support is essential to sustain and expand these activities.
Among these, legacy giving is a new form of social contribution that "connects your life's wishes to the future of the region," and it greatly supports our activities.

Here is a special offer♪

―Introduction of an actual case― At our foundation, you can establish a custom-made fund based on your own wishes.
Last fiscal year, the "Etsuko Kudo Fund" was established through a legacy donation from the late Etsuko Kudo.
Through this fund,
"New support for 'gifted' children who are buried in society",
"Individual learning support and meal support for children in economically disadvantaged households",
"A project to promote new social participation for people with disabilities utilizing the avatar robot OriHime," and more,
support for 10 projects has been realized!
Legacy giving is an option to "entrust your wishes to the future."
Why not start by learning about legacy giving?
(2) The public call for the Dormant Deposit Project has closed!
This is Horaku, the Representative Director.
We have closed the public call for the 2024 Fiscal Year Dormant Deposit Utilization Project "South Osaka Child-rearing Support Hub Formation Project."
We received inquiries from over 30 organizations, and ultimately received applications from 15 organizations.
Thank you!
Once again, this was an opportunity to realize that there are issues in South Osaka that cannot be sufficiently addressed by existing systems and mechanisms, and that there are organizations working persistently within the region to face them.
In accordance with the application guidelines, the applicant organizations and projects are published on the foundation's website.
Supported organizations are expected to be decided during September after a review committee. We will let you know!
(3) This is how we got through the summer vacation without school lunches!
In the previous August newsletter, we wrote, "During the long vacation period without school lunches, the Semboku Community Fridge sees a significant decrease in food supplies.
Does anyone have any leftover food at home? If you could bring it to Semboku Lab, there are people who would be helped." Upon doing so,
we received food from a great many people, as well as cash donations and rice ticket donations.
This is just a small portion. Thank you everyone!
We look forward to your continued support for the Semboku Community Fridge.
(4) Seeking names for the "lawn mower" that keeps the Semboku Lab lawn beautiful!
An automatic lawn mower has arrived at Semboku Lab to take care of the garden lawn.
It is a small car-shaped mower that looks just like a puppy. We want to give this little one a wonderful name that people will feel attached to!
We narrowed it down to 4 choices through a staff survey. So, we have a request for everyone! Please tell us which name fits Semboku Lab!
・Labomaru
・Yy Shibariina
・ShibaLAB
・Karicky
Please choose from the four above. If you click the URL below to vote, you will see that three of the candidates are currently in a dead heat.
We would appreciate your precious vote. The deadline is the end of September.
*Editor's Note*
This is Kano from the secretariat. A topic about our official YouTube channel, "Semboku New Town TV".
When I checked who the viewers were using YouTube channel analytics, the result was 94.6% female and 5.4% male. Too biased! I have to reach men too... I also found that many people learned about this channel by watching "Semboku Q&A," content where a Semboku New Town TV reporter asks simple questions sent to the Semboku Community and Living Foundation and foundation staff answer them in an easy-to-understand way, as well as "How to get to Semboku Lab."
We want to make this a channel that supports the daily lives of people living in Semboku New Town in the future, so please subscribe to the channel.
