Today's title is this haiku by Matsuo Basho.
Just like last time, it is from the Clubhouse program that Toyoko Shimotsuma has been running for four years,
'Business Books Read by Ear: Mimi-Biji,' and the topic comes from a conversation with last week's guest, copywriter and author Hiroko Sawaragi, which is to imagine Basho's feelings and appreciate the poem.

I will try to imagine them from the scenery.
Under a cloudy sky, lotus leaves with deep roots overlap quietly in the pond, and the water surface sways gently whenever the wind blows.
Feeling the humidity in the damp air of the rainy season,
Basho was quietly gazing at the pond alone.
It might have been a time for introspection, if not quite meditation.
Then,
a frog jumps in with a 'plop'.
For a moment, the sound of the water echoed, and he grinned.
Was it a feeling of affection for the frog,
or did he simply feel the 'presence of life'?
I don't know, though. (^^)
As a haute couture space stylist,
I incorporate borrowed scenery into the image of the space and translate it into a physical form while considering the overall harmony.
Therefore, rather than Basho's feelings within the haiku,
I imagined Basho in such a setting.
Like, is it the rainy season because of the frog? Are there lotus leaves because it is an old pond?
