Personal History: Transferring to University
───────────────
Failure
1990: Age 27
I passed the entrance exam for the Department of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Utsunomiya University, a national university, in 1982 on my first attempt.
However, right after enrolling, I became obsessed with part-time work at music events,
and on top of that, my hands stopped working as I wanted them to,
so I neglected my class notes and lab reports.
I failed the required subjects and lab courses in the Electronic Engineering department... (crying)
Withdrawal
In the end, although I was enrolled at Utsunomiya University for four years,
in order to graduate, I had to take the required first-year subjects in order,
which meant I would have had to stay for another four years.
So, I made the bold decision to withdraw and entered the workforce.

However,
[University Dropout]
the desire to wipe away that dishonor grew stronger,
and in April 1990, I transferred to The Open University of Japan.
62 credits I earned at Utsunomiya University were accepted, allowing me to transfer as a third-year student.
My major was [Understanding Nature].
I belonged to the now-defunct Setagaya Study Center.
While working as a professional, I wrote university reports and went to take credit certification exams on my days off.
