Cold brew coffee, in a pitcher
The coffee my husband drinks at home.
Every morning, I make it with a De'Longhi coffee maker, but since he says he prefers iced coffee in the summer, I've been making cold brew coffee in a pitcher.
When I make it in a pitcher, it looks just like barley tea.
Or rather, it looks exactly like barley tea.
Overnight in the fridge
I put two to three measuring spoonfuls of coffee into tea bags and make two of them. I just put these in a glass pitcher and let them steep in the fridge overnight.
In our house, the way we make iced coffee is the same as how we make barley tea.
I'm using the same pitcher I used to make barley tea in until last year.
The handle is easy to use.
I used to make it with the coffee maker the day before and put it in the fridge, or buy bottled coffee and chill it, but since switching to this method, the effort has been drastically reduced.
It's comfortable for me, too.
Sometimes he puts it in a thermos with ice and takes it to work.
By the way, the amount mentioned above is for my husband's preferred "quite weak" strength.
Gemütlichkeit can be found even in things like this.
Gemütlichkeit is a German word for a sense of mental stability, warmth, and coziness.
A life of Gemütlichkeit—a life that is comfortable and just right—is my ideal.
I want to live with a light heart by creating a relaxing environment and not pushing myself too hard.
You might think it's just making iced coffee.
But I've found it easier with this method, and I'm happy because my husband says it's delicious and drinks it.
Being able to provide joy and relaxation to someone important fills me with satisfaction as well.
I feel a connection and warmth with others.
Hints for a life of Gemütlichkeit were hidden in places like this.
Using cold brew coffee packs might make it easy to get started.
