[805th Ball] The Shinkansen on the Way Home

I am writing this on the Shinkansen on the way home from the Nikkei Top Leader University.
It was a very fulfilling day. Today is a look back at the one-day lecture at Nikkei Top Leader University.

Tokyo

Tokyo, as always, gets me excited.
Moreover, it's Akasaka. As I made my way to the venue, passing by the Imperial Palace, the National Diet Building, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and so on, my excitement grew even more.
I arrived at the venue a little early.

Lecture Content

The lecture covered the following topics:
・Self-introduction and company introduction
・Business succession
・Second founding
・Recruitment capability
・M&A
I planned for 20 minutes each, with some flexibility, totaling 90 minutes. If I had gone in order for 20 minutes each, I planned to pace it so the last one would be 10 minutes.

“I am grateful to the people at Nikkei BP who made the arrangements, and to everyone who gathered here. I will also begin my talk while holding feelings of gratitude for my colleagues who are protecting Sanyo Industry back in Akashi even at this very moment while I am here in Tokyo.”

I started with a greeting like that.
The participants were also very enthusiastic, which made it easy to talk.
Since the time for each item was limited to about 20 minutes, I told them that I would be happy to answer any questions they might have on themes they were interested in during the 90-minute Q&A session.

During the company introduction, I had them listen to our Vocaloid company song, 3400 Newton, and I received applause as soon as the song ended.
I was very, very happy.

It was my first full-throttle 90-minute effort in a while. I thought to myself halfway through: when this is over, I'm going to feel an incredibly pleasant sense of fatigue. And that is exactly what happened.

There is one thing I want to praise myself for.
The lecture time was 14:00-15:30.
I finished my final talk on the raison d'etre of Sanyo Industry at 15:30:30.
I finished exactly on time, just like a Japanese JR train, with no deviation at all. Of course, I was told that going over by 5 or 10 minutes would be fine, but I wanted to be precise. As planned, after a break, we moved on to the 90-minute Q&A session.

90-Minute Q&A Session

I had heard in advance that the 90-minute Q&A session would continue without interruption.
And that is exactly what happened. I received many questions about the manufacturing dispatch business, business succession, the history of Sanyo Industry, and the future of Sanyo Industry, making it a very good time for me as well.

This Nikkei Top Leader University features a stellar lineup of lecturers.
What is expected of me are ideas and hints that can be used immediately.
Ways of thinking and know-how that can be put into practice right away. I believed it was my duty to convey such things to the students, so I focused my talk on those areas.

I hope they were able to take something home with them, and I am happy if they did.

Important Things

This Nikkei Top Leader University lecture had been decided 1 year and 3 months ago.
I thought it was still a long way off, but it arrived in the blink of an eye, and now it is over. I did a lot of preparation for this lecture. My father also cooperated with me.

This 90-minute Q&A session was also a very good time for me.
They asked about points they were curious about or didn't quite understand. In the process, I had my own realizations. It was a moment where I felt once again the importance of how to convey things and the importance of numbers.

The Sanyo Industry of today, and the Sanyo Industry of the future.
We will always keep looking to the future and energize Japan's manufacturing sites.
