Embraced by Blue - Kazemakase Literature Club
The blue ink spills over.
Slowly, as if it were walking on its own across the paper.
I reached out my hand as if to stop the ink.
The hand placed upon the paper begins to stain blue, as if the color is soaking into my skin.
I feel no cold, only the sensation of being captured by the viscous liquid.
As I slide my hand away to escape, the world of blue covers the world of white.
The navy blue is as deep as the night, eventually turning into a jewel-like lapis lazuli.
It goes beyond ultramarine, unraveling into a dayflower-blue sky.
The spilled ink spread a gradient of blue across the entire page.
I stare at my hand, stained blue.
When I touch my cheek, the dayflower blue reflects onto my face as well.
I place both hands on the blue shining upon the paper.
I embrace myself.
On such damp, rainy days, I want to be embraced by a world of blue.
I close my eyes.
Into the navy night and the deep sea.
The blue quietly embraced me.
Thank you for reading. This work is a participation in the Kazemakase Literature Club project.
