Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT are all much of a muchness. Choose your AI based on 'what you want to do,' not 'intelligence.'

You see posts like this on social media, don't you? But since AI is updated daily, chasing after 'which one is smarter' or 'which one is better' is just a waste of time.

Don't get swayed by such information; you should just choose based on 'what you want to do with AI'.

For example, here is what I want to do.

1. Fact gathering

2. Collecting trends from social media, etc. (information bias)

3. MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive) checks and associated comparison reports

4. Verification of hypotheses

5. Summarizing 1-4 to create materials

6. Counter-arguments to the materials in 5, and advance QA confirmation (preparation assuming Q&A for the materials)

7. Meeting management (minutes and task creation are essential)

8. Tool development necessary for systematization

9. Automation of the above tasks

Of these, 1 through 7 can be handled by Google Workspace. The reason is simple: email, chat, files, schedules, Gemini, and NotebookLM are all connected laterally. For example, you can set up a workflow entirely within Google Workspace where 'when a specific email is received, the AI reads the content, transcribes it into a spreadsheet, and notifies the person in charge via chat' (this is a feature called Workspace Studio; I'll talk about this in another article).

However, to perform 8 and 9, as well as 2 and 5, at a high level, Google Workspace cannot achieve it. This is because the mechanisms aren't there, or it cannot handle them well due to the volume of data. Reading and writing files directly on a PC, creating deliverables in Excel or PowerPoint format, and repeating development and testing on your own—this is outside the scope of Google Workspace. In these cases, I use Claude Cowork or Claude Code.

Use Google Workspace as the base, and supplement only what is missing with Claude.

It's simple.

Why am I so particular about Google Workspace? The biggest reason is the 'seamless lateral connection' I just wrote about, but another big one is security.

Are you conscious of security?

As long as I am doing business with clients, I am highly conscious of security.

・Will my data be used for training when using AI?
・Will the AI modify, delete, or upload files on its own?
・Is confidential information kept secure?

Google Workspace is a 'protected box' in this regard. Google explicitly states that data within it will not leave the organization and will not be used for AI training, and the system is designed so that the AI can only reference files to which you have access.

On the other hand, agent-based AIs like Claude can read and write files on your computer, browse the web, and even execute commands.Because they are powerful, they come with the risk of 'unintended operations.' New threats are also emerging, such as prompt injection attacks (a technique where instructions like 'execute xx' are hidden within sites or files to try and manipulate the AI).

Since it is impossible to be 100% secure, I believe that taking defensive measures yourself is a must. I have only three rules when I use Claude.

・Separate a dedicated folder for Claude to access, and never put confidential files in it.
・Do not use the 'execute without confirmation' mode.
・Limit web access to trusted sites.
