[Certified Social Worker x 400 Followers Milestone Project] I will find 3 of your "strengths"♡
A user who constantly engages in problematic behavior
A staff member who never stops bullying newcomers
A family member who only ever complains
Even though it's work, honestly,
I don't want to deal with people like that.
But, I have to.
Just thinking about it brings up the word"melancholy"anda sigh.
At times like that, there is just one stopgap solution.
Even the person right in front of you has at least one"strength".
Just by finding that "strength," I was able to endure it for the moment.
① [Gratitude] Reached 400 followers!
It's been about 5 months since I started note.
Thanks to you all, I havereached 400 followers‼️
Since starting note, I haven't been that obsessed with "numbers," and I haven't been doing useless mass actions just to collect followers or likes.
🌸I want my experience to be useful to as many people as possible
🌸I want to share empathy for the unique world of welfare through note
🌸I want to study "ways of writing that convey meaning"
Driven by these "thoughts," I do what I can day by day, and every article I post is my best effort.
400 followers in 5 months of note✨
If you look only at the numbers, there are certainly those who are higher up.
"It's not a big deal."
Many people might think that.
But, regardless of speed or quantity, for me, I am filled with gratitude that as many as 400 people have followed my articles!
Beyond those who follow me,
🌸those who warmly interact with me in the comments
🌸those who always give me a 'like!'
🌸those who have purchased my articles
🌸those who read them secretly
🌸those who just happened to pass by and read a little
I am truly filled with gratitude for everyone like this!
🍀I want to return the favor of your gratitude.
🍀Is there anything I can do for those I have a connection with?
I started thinking about this secretly, and honestly, I've been racking my brain about it a lot lately (lol)
I actually quite enjoyed that time, too.
And, when I announced this "project" in my previous post,
"I'm looking forward to the 400 followers milestone project!"
I received several comments like that.
So!
I decided to throw away everything I had initially imagined,
"Let's try doing something fun!" I thought.
🎵I have fun too
🎵and those who participate have fun too
Hmm... what could it be... I thought and thought, and thought...
And!
Suddenly, it hit me!
"I will find 3 of your 'strengths'♡"
② Finding 'strengths' is my special skill❗️
Why 'strengths' all of a sudden, you might wonder? Yes, please do wonder (lol).
I don't have a CliftonStrengths certification, I haven't taken any strength-related training, and I'm not a certified instructor.
I am just aregular 'welfare facility worker'.
However,
as a service management supervisor at a welfare facility, I am a professional who creates 'individual support plans' for each user.
In my roughly two years of life as a service manager, I have created about 60 individual support plans per year,
but at my workplace, I have the on-site staff think of the specific goals and support content, so
Even during my time as a frontline worker, I have spent about 15 yearsthinking about the support content to include in the individual support plans for the approximately 10 cases I was responsible for.
There is one thing I have valued very highly throughout my 20 years of working in facilities.
🌸Creating plans that utilize the user's "strengths"🌸
It is important for welfare professionals to have a "strengths perspective" that focuses on the "strengths" of the users.
People who use welfare services have some kind of "problem" or "issue."
While it is important to grasp "problems" and "issues," rather than just looking at the problems,
✅Things they can do
✅Things they like
✅Things they are good at
In this way, a stance of providing support while firmly focusing on "what is there now" and "what can be done now" is required.
As a certified social worker, one is also required to look at "what can be done" from a broader perspective, such as utilizing community resources and coordinating welfare services.
No matter what disabilities they have, or how difficult a user may be, I have always managed to find at least one "strength" in every user I have been responsible for.
No matter how trivial or small, first find and identify the "good points," and then transform them into "strengths."
I have continued this for 20 years, and before I knew it, finding "strengths" became my special skill (lol)
For example,
"User A, when the floor where everyone is spending time gets noisy, would go alone to an empty room when the staff looked away and lie down in a corner."
Looking at this alone, it tends to become, "A is a person to watch out for who cannot spend time with everyone and goes off to a different place alone," but on the other hand, in this case, A's "strength" is,
"Being able to find a place where they feel comfortable spending time on their own and being able to move there by themselves."
It becomes. In this way, there are very often "strengths" hidden within what might at first glance seem like "issues" or "problems."
From a welfare perspective, "strengths" are considered not only "personality-based" things but also "environmental" strengths as legitimate "strengths."
After working for 20 years, I can state this definitively.
There is no one in the world who has no "strengths."
No matter what kind of disability someone has, no matter how much I might dislike them, or even if they act in such bizarre ways that I think, "What on earth?!"
everyone, absolutely everyone, has had "strengths".
That is why, you, who are reading this article right now, definitely have "strengths" too.
③ [Limited to 3 people] I will find your "strengths"✨
So, I have a request for you.
🌸Would you let me find your "strengths"??
For those who always read my articles,
✅feeling inferior in social work
✅lacking confidence despite being in a management position
✅feeling self-conscious about a low income
I think many of you might be thinking things like this.
However, by finding your "strengths",
✅things you can do by leveraging your "strengths"
✅feeling a little more confident
you can change into this kind of person.
"You and I only know each other through note"
↓
"I can find your strengths 'objectively' rather than through 'sentiment'"
Being "objective" is extremely important.
When sentiment or emotions get involved, it inevitably leads to a biased perspective, but,
by trying to find your "strengths" from an objective point of view, you might have a new, unexpected "discovery".
Even if this is your first time reading my article, if you think "this sounds interesting," please feel free to participate in this project🎵
I believe that such"intuition"and"connections"are important.
...So, with that said...
