── A small breakthrough to cultivate “mental defense”
Hello!
I am NAGI-u, a visiting rehabilitation physical therapist ✨
💭 Things that happen at home visit sites
One day, I went to visit a user who was complaining of lower back pain.
As far as I could see, the method of self-training they had been doing for years was
actually the cause of their back pain.
I thought I had explained carefully,
“If you do it this way, the burden on your lower back will be reduced.”
——But, at that moment, the person's expression changed.
“I've been doing this for decades, so this way has to be the right one! 💢”
My chest tightened.
“They had been exercising in their own way, and I might have ended up denying that.”
“It was my way of explaining that was bad...”
On the way home, I kept thinking about that the whole time.
Another person.
A user I asked, “Is it okay if I change the visit time?”
Even though they readily answered “That's fine,” the next day——
“I'm in trouble if you change the time unilaterally! 💢”
I was yelled at.
And to another person, when I finished the visit as scheduled, I was told this:
“Don't finish on time! 💢”
“You could provide more service, couldn't you? 💢”
Of course, it is a fact that I had my own shortcomings.
I know that is something I should reflect on.
But—when it comes time to sleep, I remember it and can't fall asleep.
My mood drops, I take it out on my family, and then I fall into self-loathing again.
And so, little by little, I fell into a **"negative loop"**.
🧠 Why do I get hurt so much?
Because you face people more earnestly than anyone else.
"I want to make things better"
"If I just endure it..."
The more you think that,
the more you take everything the other person says as your own responsibility.
That kindness is your strength,
and at the same time, it is also the place where you are most easily hurt.
Even if you try to change your mood, you remember it again and feel distressed—
that is a sign that your "mental defense system" has been damaged.
If things continue this way, your motivation will drop, self-denial will intensify,
and your heart will wear out, thinking, "Maybe I'm not cut out for this after all."
🌱 But, it's okay.
If you learn how to protect your heart,
you can minimize that damage.
It's not about "trying not to care,"
or "enduring it"—
Right after being scolded
After getting home
And from the next day onwards
Having a "mechanism to protect your heart" at each of these timings.
That will become the power that truly protects your heart.
🕊️ The answer I finally found after failing many times
I myself have felt down many times,
and there were nights when I thought about quitting.
But, it became clear to me through "psychology," "brain science," and "field experience."
That there is a "way to rebuild your heart from the moment you are scolded."
Those are the three steps.
1️⃣ Protect your heart on the spot the moment you are scolded
2️⃣ Care for your heart afterward
3️⃣ Develop habits to increase your heart's defensive strength
Just by knowing these,
the habit of over-assuming that "it's my fault" will gradually fade away.
🧭 I will talk about this in the next article
In the next article,
I will specifically introduce
"practical methods to protect your heart" that I have actually tried and felt were effective, along with cases I have experienced,
as well.
Just by reading it,
you won't let unreasonable words drag you down
your guilt will decrease, and you will stop blaming yourself
you will stop carrying over emotions during work
You can acquire such a "mechanism of the heart"😊

💬 To you
The fact that you are easily hurt
is not because you are weak or immature.
It is proof that you are seriously facing people.
Turn that kindness into "strength" instead of suffering.
I will tell you how to do that in the next article.
📋 Mini Blueprint
1️⃣ You get scolded unreasonably on-site and end up blaming yourself
2️⃣ That is a burden on the heart caused by "kindness"
3️⃣ Wounds to the "heart's defense system" that cannot be healed by stress relief
4️⃣ If you have a mechanism to protect your heart, you can reduce the damage
5️⃣ Next time, I will explain "how to protect your heart" in a paid article
