しかしわたしたちは、この宝を土の器の中に持っている。その測り知れない力は神のものであって、わたしたちから出たものでないことが、あらわれるためである
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

神の受けられるいけにえは砕けた魂です。神よ、あなたは砕けた悔いた心をかろしめられません。
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

ところが、主が言われた、「わたしの恵みはあなたに対して十分である。わたしの力は弱いところに完全にあらわれる」。それだから、キリストの力がわたしに宿るように、むしろ、喜んで自分の弱さを誇ろう。
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

わたしはまた主の言われる声を聞いた、「わたしはだれをつかわそうか。だれがわれわれのために行くだろうか」。
その時わたしは言った、「ここにわたしがおります。わたしをおつかわしください」。
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?
Then said I, Here am I; send me.
