These lyrics gripped my heart tightly.

Feelings I wanted to forget.
Feelings I couldn't forget.
When I wrote "The Flip Side of Kindness," I was still wavering between them.

In truth, I didn't want to say it like that.
I wanted to be kind, but I couldn't do it well.

But that was the best I could do.

I wonder if a day will come when I understand as I get older.
Or perhaps, I've just become a little more able to forgive myself.

"Was this really the right thing to do?"
Sometimes, I think that.
But I'll keep that locked away in my heart.
