It's always Mom and Dad who catch the germs. The one who never gives them back is our little dancer.

My three-year-old daughter has Down syndrome.
And she is, without a doubt... a daddy's girl.

Especially when she's not feeling well,
Daddy's lap instantly turns into a "VIP seat."
Maybe she thinks, "If I sleep here, I'll get better," and honestly, she actually does get a little better.

Anyway, last month,
what she brought home from daycare was—of all things—"pneumonia bacteria."
Not our daughter, but Daddy got pneumonia.
He was bedridden for two whole weeks. Coughing his lungs out, body shaking.
And during that time, as for our daughter...

As if to say, "...Daddy, you look like you're having a hard time,"
that concern lasted only a moment...

She started up a YouTube dance channel right next to the futon‼️

And then, this month,
she brought home germs again.
This time, Mom was down for a week with whooping cough.
(Our family tends to get hit one after the other💦)

But as for the star of the show, our daughter—
she had a bit of a fever, but recovered right away.
She stayed home from daycare and the child development support center,
and what was she doing at home, you ask?

...She was dancing.
Watching YouTube... and dancing.
She has a fever, yet she's dancing.

Last year, it was a combo of high fever → pneumonia → hospitalization right away...
Compared to that, she's gotten so much stronger.

When she has a fever, it's her "clingy phase"‼️
And once the fever breaks, it's on to the "dance release phase."

As our daughter grows, the power of the germs only attacks the parents.
...But well, when you see her smiling while she dances, you know.

After all, health is everything.

She still doesn't have many words, but her "zest for life" comes through loud and clear.
Her smile, the way she clings to us, the warmth when she hugs us,
even without saying a word, she tells us "I love you."

Even though we parents keep getting knocked down by germs,
watching our daughter dance still gives us a little boost of energy.
