My 4-year-old daughter with Down syndrome and 🎄Merry Christmas🎅🏼

In our house, we have our Christmas party on the 25th every year.

Part of it is that I work until the 25th, but
to begin with, our family is the type that says—
“The 24th? ...What even is Christmas Eve!?”
so this year, it's the 25th again.

Dad came home from work,

picked up the cake and various other things we had reserved,
and at night—it finally began!!

First up, meat🍖

At the start, she was supposed to dive into the meat... but.

My daughter's picky eating kicked in here.

Daughter
“No!!”

...Chicken, unexpectedly rejected💦

Well, those days happen, it is Christmas after all.



Around that time, Dad...

Before it was time for the cake🎂,
Dad secretly disappeared.

A disguise.
Setting up music on his iPhone.

And then—

*Jingle jingle jingle⋆⸜🔔⸝‍⋆♬.ﾟ

Daughter
“Huh!?”

Disguised Papa Santa, descends🎅🏼

Disguised Papa Santa &
Reindeer (Patrasche) appear!!

Daughter
“Hmm!?”
“...Ah!! You!!”

...Who are you calling 'you'!? lol

From there on, it was total chaos.

While squealing with delight, she charged at us,
a full-force hug!!

And then,
chasing us around with all her might!!

Mysterious Santa
“Merry Christmas🎄”

When I handed her some candy,
my daughter dashed over to Mom.

Mom was laughing hysterically while
secretly filming it all on her phone lol

The moment he tried to leave,

as he tried to leave—
my daughter dashed again.

This time...
She grabbed Patrasche by the neck!! lol

Papa Santa running away in a panic.
Sweating buckets( ˊᵕˋ ;)💦

And so, a legend is born

Finally, when I put the
Santa hat and beard I used for the disguise on my daughter...

Wait...!?
...She looks familiar...

Is that the guy from Howl's Moving Castle
who said 'Wait a moment'!?
She looks like a live-action version of him lol

And then, in the middle of the night—

after my daughter had fallen fast asleep,
I quietly placed the real present by her pillow

This year's Christmas party
came to a successful close.

Noisy,
sweaty,
and full of laughter.

—After all,
this is the best kind of Christmas.
