Nazokake Patterns: "-ki ni naru" and "-ki ni suru"

(1) About Nazokake "Patterns"

Whether it is Kendo, violin, or haiku, it is said that "patterns" (kata) are important for improvement.
Nazokake is no exception; there are many patterns that make it easier to create, and I call these "patterns".

The one I am introducing this time is a convenient pattern that is highly versatile, allows for the creation of clever works, and is easy to understand when heard.

(2) Pattern: "-ki ni naru" and "-ki ni suru"

Here are examples of Nazokake using this pattern.

• Comparing a board game to falling in love. The heart of it is: becoming dice-conscious (becoming deeply in love).

• Comparing clam digging to a detergent sale. The heart of it is: worrying about the clams (making a bulk purchase).

• Comparing hay fever to choosing a Hitomi Yaida song at karaoke. The heart of it is: worrying about nasal mucus (making it Hanamizuki).

• Comparing a field trip to a Ghibli fan. The heart of it is: becoming an early riser (becoming Hayao-conscious).

(3) Homophones to keep in mind

Among the homophones that use this pattern, the following two are highly versatile.

1. Kaite ki ni naru (Buyer is interested) ↔ Kaiteki ni naru (Becomes comfortable)

"Becomes comfortable" can be used for home appliances like air conditioners and general convenience goods like pressure cookers.
"Buyer is interested" can be used for stocks and auctions.

(Example)
Comparing an air conditioner to stock trading. The heart of it is: becoming comfortable (buyer is interested).

2. Hyo ga ki ni naru (Votes/Table/Leopard are on one's mind) ↔ Hyogaki ni naru (Becomes an ice age)

"Votes (or table, leopard) are on one's mind" can be used for elections, politicians, animals, and anything with a table (like Excel).
"Becomes an ice age" can be linked to cold weather.

(Example)
Comparing a politician to a drop in temperature. The heart of it is: votes are on one's mind (becomes an ice age).
Comparing a zebra to a drop in temperature. The heart of it is: a leopard is on one's mind (becomes an ice age).
Comparing a cold wave to Excel. The heart of it is: becomes an ice age (the table is on one's mind).
