What a husband thinks when his wife goes on a diet
This might be a bit surprising.
When a wife goes on a diet, something shifts before the husband's weight does.
—
1. At first, he thinks it has nothing to do with him
Even if his wife says,
"I think I'll go on a diet,"
the husband's inner thought is,
"Hmm (but the fried chicken won't decrease)."
He won't get in the way,
and he won't say anything.
—
2. But he quietly feels the pressure
As his wife starts to lose weight,
he gradually starts to think things like:
• Feeling left behind
• Feeling like he's the only one who hasn't changed
• Feeling somewhat uncomfortable
However, he doesn't
put that into words.
Without saying a word, the atmosphere at the dinner table changes just a little.
—
3. Sometimes his wife's "stoicism" is exhausting
• Calorie counting
• Dietary restrictions
• A tense atmosphere
The husband feels:
"Being together is a bit tiring."
But even this,
he almost never says.
—
4. Even so, if his wife seems happy, he wants to support her
This is the most important part.
• Eating with enjoyment
• Not forcing it
• In a good mood
When he sees his wife in this state,
the husband naturally thinks:
"Well, maybe I'll cut back a little too."
—
5. A husband hates being "dragged into it"
Being "influenced" is okay.
This is quite important.
• Let's do it together → No
• Doing it on her own → OK
• Pushing it on him → Resistance
• Atmosphere → Synchronization
A husband wants to
act based on his own decisions.

Summary
When a couple's diet goes well,
it usually follows this structure:
• Wife: Happily leading the way
• Husband: Following along on his own, a little behind
Don't call out to him.
Don't pull him along.
Just keep the path clear.
(Leave the rest to his own gut and pride.)
