"Flower Fairy" Jean-Paul Aubé 🌿 The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka [Osaka 💐 Sculpture Tour]
📍 At Nishi-Umeda Osaka Garden City

The building across the street is Umeda Dai Bldg.
🤩 Herbis OSAKA has so much greenery, it feels great~
😁 It was planned with the idea of redeveloping the entire former JNR freight station
to create a sophisticated city filled with greenery,
so that's why it's like this.
😃 Umeda is usually crowded and chaotic,
but it feels pleasant to walk around here.
The sky is wide and there's shade from the trees too,🌿
😄 In 1997 (Heisei 9),
the symbol of Nishi-Umeda, "Herbis OSAKA," opened.
At the same time, The Ritz-Carlton made its first entry into Japan 🌟
Herbis really leveled up in class 🌟
🤩 As expected of a five-star 🌟 hotel.
😁 The nickname "Osaka Garden City" was decided,
and with buildings like Breeze and others being built one after another,
a sophisticated city with plenty of greenery was completed 🌿
🤩 So it's not just the hotel that's luxurious,
the cityscape itself has elegance, doesn't it?
🌿
📍 At The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka

🤩 There's a garden near the porte-cochère,
which also has a great atmosphere~
😁 That's right.
There is a sculpture of a fairy in this garden,
so I definitely want you to see it 👇

Title: Flower fairy

🌿
🤩 Flower fairy 💕 It's so wonderful 💕
I would have normally walked right past it without noticing it was here 💦
😄 It fits the atmosphere of the Ritz perfectly, doesn't it?
It's elegant and refined 💐

😄 Jean-Paul Aubé
studied sculpture seriously at France's top art school, the École des Beaux-Arts ✌️
🙄...Beaux-Arts?
😁 In Japan, it's like a school such as Tokyo University of the Arts.
They thoroughly study ancient Greece and Rome,
and receive an education that says,
"First, master the technique."
😅 That's why it's so well-made.
The face is beautiful, of course💕,
the pose has movement💕,
even the folds of the costume💕,
everything is beautiful💕.
🌿
😁 The late 19th century, when Aubé was active,
was a time when the French sculpture world changed significantly,
and Rodin was three years his junior.
😲 Is that for real!?
😁 Rodin released new sculptures one after another,
like "The Gates of Hell" and "The Burghers of Calais,"
that exposed human suffering and emotions.
His style is characterized by expressions where the body seems to writhe.
😲 The art world must have been surprised.
😅 That's right.
But Aubé didn't jump on that trend.
🙄 What do you mean?
😁 He valued traditional beauty, elegance,
and accurate modeling until the end.
Instead of causing a flashy revolution,
he was a person who stuck to the belief that
"Beautiful things are beautiful in any era."
🤩 So that's why,
when you look at this "Flower fairy,"
you feel a gentle emotion thinking it's beautiful?
😏 That must be Aubé's aesthetic.
🌿
🤔 There is no production year on the plaque,
what does that mean?
😅 Is it simply unknown, or...?
When you look at the overseas art market, you can see this kind of thing being bought and sold.
I'm not sure if it's a different casting or what,
but there is no doubt that it is a work
that is still loved around the world🌟.

There is a flower lying at her feet.
💐 Places where you can meet the work
