My name is Kohei Otani.

I've been thinking about secondary access ever since that day.

Take Lake Towada, for example. People who knew it in the past say it has "really gone downhill," but if you actually go there, the lake is filled with clear blue water, and the light filtered through the trees falls quietly onto the lakeside path. As far as the eye can see, it is quiet, beautiful blue and green. Every time I breathe, the depths of my heart are gently healed. Especially during the autumn foliage season.

I believe that if there were just a means of transportation, it would definitely make a comeback as a tourist destination.

And then there's Hirosaki City. It's in a neighboring prefecture, but the distance is short. It's about a 70-minute drive from Oinu Airport. Right now, you have to take a bus to the nearest station and transfer to the JR line.

I was told by my former boss at the seconded employees' meeting, and I also heard from Kojima, the mechanic (see Season 1, Episode 7), that there are many business travelers heading to Hirosaki.

If there were secondary transportation that could go directly there, the number of airport users would definitely increase.

The current situation is that there are no customers, so there is no access. Because there is no access, customers don't come. Because customers don't come, we can't create access.

"Ahhh, this is a case of which came first, the chicken or the egg, isn't it?"

Takenouchi-san reacted to me as I involuntarily held my head in my hands.

"Oh, I know the answer to that."

"What? If you know it, please tell me."

"The answer is, 'the egg'."

"Wait, eggs are born from chickens, so if there are no chickens, no eggs can be born..."

"That is incorrect."

Takenouchi-san said it briefly and decisively.

"The thing that lays the egg could be a crow, a pheasant, a sparrow, or an ostrich. The important thing is just that it is an 'egg from which a chicken is born.' Therefore, the egg comes first."

"I see. Man, that smug look is annoying. You have a face right now that says, 'I just said something clever.' It's kind of annoying."

"My family home is a farm. It's dairy farming, though. Did you know? A black-haired Wagyu calf can be born from a Holstein mother."

"What, what? What are you talking about? Please say that again."

"We buy fertilized black-haired Wagyu eggs and transplant them into Holsteins. Then, a calf with 100% black-haired Wagyu genes is born from the Holstein."

"What were we talking about again?"

"Well, Director Otani said, 'Which came first, the chicken or the egg?'"

"I wonder why that came up."

"Who knows."
