About the Writing Life Project
■ The Writing Life Project and Me
Before I write about what the "Writing Life Project" is,
please let me write a little about myself.
We met in the spring of 2021.
At that time, I was getting carried away.
I had decided to "live honestly according to my true heart,"
and I intended to live that way.
I don't like working, so I don't work much.
I like being lazy, so I'm always lounging around.
I like to eat, so I eat whatever I want, as much as I want.
It was at such a time that I happened to come across the "Writing Life Project."
Why did I join?
Because I was bored. Lol
Of course, there were other motives, but anyway, I didn't think too deeply about it,
and I joined without even reading the explanation properly.
So, when I received the email explaining exactly what I would be doing,
I was so shocked that I read it about three times.
And I thought, "Oh no!! I've messed up!!!"
I literally held my head in my hands, thinking, "This is absolutely impossible!! There's no way I can do this!!!"
It's been almost five years since that day,
and I have continued without ever getting tired of it.
At first, I just felt a sense of relief that the thoughts swirling in my head were being poured out.
Next, I realized that I was someone who always lacked self-confidence and was constantly afraid of something.
At the same time, I also noticed the existence of another self who was always patiently telling that "frightened self" that "it's okay."
Through the "Writing Life Project," I met a lifelong companion who:
understands my "true heart",
stays close to me,
comforts me,
praises me,
encourages me,
and takes action for my sake.
■ What you can gain through the Writing Life Project
"This project is designed to be safe and secure."
When I was moved by this project and asked Mio Samejima, the developer of this project, for guidance so that I could help many people know about it,
this was the first thing she said to me.
This project is structured so that everyone can definitely discover the "treasures" that have been left sleeping deep inside them.
The "treasures" you find will be different for each person.
This project is designed so that we humans can find those "treasures" in a natural way.
Through this project,
many people rediscover themselves.
Also, many people remember the radiance of their soul that they had when they were young,
and regain their creativity.
And, you can build a relationship of trust with yourself, which is the most important thing in living.
As a result, this will encourage you, broaden your perspective,
increase your options, and set you free.
■ What is the Writing Life Project?
In this project, you will thoroughly engage in "writing" for a certain period of time.
You will use "writing" to "observe yourself (self-observation)" and "know yourself (self-awareness)," and make these a habit.
By doing so, you will regain power over "yourself," "your thoughts," and "your words."
This is not some flashy magic that will suddenly turn your life around.
However, those who participate in this project will surely realize that there is a surprising power in the act of "writing."
For this power to exert its true potential,
the armor and weapons we have naturally acquired in the process of living are a bit too heavy.
Engaging in "writing" in your own way every day
is also a way of letting go of the armor and weapons that are unnecessary for your future life.
By becoming lighter in this way,
you can reclaim your original power.
This is a 30-day program designed to help us discover together the small changes and transformations that arise from incorporating "writing" into your daily life,
sometimes challenging yourself,
and other times taking a break.
■ What you will do in the Writing Life Project
This project is simple and easy to engage with, weaving together various methods such as "introspection techniques," "self-awareness methods," "morning pages," and "smart note-taking techniques."
Basically, anyone who can read and write Japanese and can secure about 30 minutes a day can participate.
○ Daily "writing assignments" (20–30 minutes; varies by individual)
○ "Reading, thinking, and writing assignments" sent once a week
○ Weekly "report submission" (all submitted via email)
I think it is rare to spend 30 days facing yourself and "writing" every day.
I believe you will feel the "magic of writing" that is different from just keeping a diary.
■ Schedule
Held every month.
It begins on the first Monday of the month following your application.
■ About the assignments
Assignments will be sent via email.
It is not that different assignments are sent every day; the daily tasks you perform throughout the period remain the same. The assignments that arrive on a weekly basis (4 types in total) are designed to encourage self-awareness and are useful for self-exploration.
■ About the plans
There are two plans.
Please choose the one that is easier for you to engage with based on your intentions and circumstances.
▼ Light Plan
During the period, you will receive assignments from the facilitator via email, which you will work on. The assignments are the same for both the Light and Basic plans. You can also send the received assignments, your work, and weekly reports to the facilitator. While there is no long-form feedback, the facilitator will look through them and provide brief replies, so you can participate with the peace of mind that "there is someone who will accept what I write." Recommended for those who want to deepen their self-awareness in their own way.
▼ Basic Plan
During the period, you will receive assignments from the facilitator, which you will work on. The assignments are the same for both the Light and Basic plans. You will submit weekly reports to the facilitator and receive feedback on them. All feedback is individual. The intention is to suggest actions for unlocking your creativity that are suited to you, and to help you be released from scotomas (psychological blind spots) and unnecessary belief systems (assumptions) that are difficult to see on your own.
