Part 48 Gallery Nekomachi

A Trip to Yanaka Part 2

After walking around the Yanaka Ginza shopping street, I headed to my next destination.

Here it is!

This is "Gallery Nekomachi".

It is a gallery specializing in cats that hosts solo exhibitions for artists from various genres who work with cat themes, such as pottery, painting, sculpture, and photography!

Located in a quiet residential area of Yanaka, it is a unique exhibition space that uses a private house just as it is.

Once you climb up the slightly steep stairs, an atmospheric entrance appears.

A dandy cat with a mustache on the wall welcomes you! Haha

There are also cats here and there in the garden. Haha

I apologize that I cannot introduce the inside of the gallery as photography was not allowed.

The event being held when I visited was the "Nekomachi Bunko" on the first floor, where artists selected recommended paperback books and exhibited works related to those books.

In the gallery on the second floor, Nobi Kobo was exhibiting and selling cat works made from various materials under the theme of "Cats in Daily Life".
There were many wonderful items such as coin purses, postcards, and figurines!

It seems that various events will continue to be held in the future.

Since I had the pleasure of visiting, I purchased some of Nobi Kobo's works as a souvenir.

This time, it was an introduction to "Gallery Nekomachi" as part 2 of the Yanaka Ginza trip.
