This summer, it wasn't in a picture book, but in the palm of my hand.
Look at this!!!

The rhinoceros beetle season has arrived again this year.
My second son was too scared to touch them last year.
But this year was different.
He gently pinched the horn to lift it up and let it crawl on his palm.
He has become so sturdy that even we, his parents, were surprised, thinking, 'Wow, he really can touch them now.'
Since then,
I want to see it again!
Is there a rhinoceros beetle?
He keeps saying it over and over again.
Seeing him like that is just so cute. So cute... I can't get any work done. Haha

Before I knew it, it looks like I'll be going to buy beetle jelly again this year 🤣 haha

And then in the evening.
As soon as my eldest son came home from elementary school and saw the rhinoceros beetle,
Whoa! That's so cool!!
he said, looking incredibly envious. Haha
But actually...
My eldest son still can't touch them 🤣🤣🤣
Siblings are really interesting, aren't they?
The child who gathers the courage to touch it.
The child who is envious but still can't take that first step.
I think both are irreplaceable stages of growth that we can only see right now.
When summer comes, we open picture books to learn the names of insects.
But for children, it's more than just that.
The weight in their palm.
The ticklish feeling left on their palm.
The excitement of 'I'm scared' mixed with 'I want to try touching it.'
They remember summer through experiences like that, don't they?
This summer, it wasn't in a picture book, but in the palm of my hand.
It was that kind of day.
