Are you writing while feeling lost? | Transforming note into a place where you can continue with confidence
Introduction
Hello, I am HAS.
Are you currently feeling this way every time you write on note?
“Is this right?”
“Why am I even doing this...?”
Do you harbor some kind of anxiety like that deep down?
Actually, I used to be exactly the same.
In March, I scored 40 out of 100 on my internal promotion essay exam. I failed.
Behind the frustration, a question arose.
“Was I even writing sentences that convey meaning to the reader in the first place?”
From there, I started using note as a “training ground for writing skills” in earnest.
Seven months later, on the essay exam I took again—
40 points → 80 points, passed with a high score.
Through this experience, I realized something painfully.
The reason note continues in an ambiguous state is not due to talent or persistence.
It is because there is no “yardstick for the goal.”
In this article, I will fully disclose the
dramatically improved reverse-engineering strategy for goal setting that I used to reach my ultimate goal of “passing the essay exam.”
Starting today, your note will change from
a “place where you continue aimlessly” to
a stage where you can grow with confidence.

1. A super practical guide to setting “KGI/KSF/KPI” taught by someone who passed the essay exam
To achieve difficult goals, I used the business framework of KGI (Key Goal Indicator), KSF (Key Success Factor), and KPI (Key Performance Indicator).
This brings logical consistency to your note management.

-
KGI (Key Goal Indicator): Final Destination
Definition: A quantitative goal you want to achieve in the end (e.g., passing the essay exam, 50,000 yen in monthly revenue).
→ First, concretely decide on the final destination of your note life using numbers or facts of achievement.
-
KSF (Key Success Factor): The Compass
Definition: "Essential elements or actions" required to achieve the KGI. It defines the "direction" for deriving KPIs.absolutely essential elements or actions
→ If you get this wrong, no matter how hard you work, you won't achieve your goal. Analysis and narrowing down are the most important steps.
-
KPI (Key Performance Indicator): Checkpoints
Definition: "Concrete numerical indicators" to measure whether the KSF is progressing smoothly.concrete numerical indicators
→ Track progress daily and make course corrections to achieve your goals.
2. "My note Strategy Map" that led to a high-passing level from 40 to 80 points
Moving from abstract theory, I will reveal the strategy map I used to successfully achieve a dramatic improvement from 40 to 80 points and pass the thesis exam.
[KGI: Passing the Thesis Exam] My most important goal aimed at strengthening my ability to communicate through words.
🔑 The 3 KSFs (Success Factors) I narrowed down
Mastering writing structures:
Establish logical structures using methods like PREP or the New PASONA law to ensure readers understand clearly.
Getting many people to see it:
Expose my work to a wide audience, analyze likes and comments, and view my writing objectively.
Getting feedback on the quality of my writing:
Have generative AI act as a strict examiner to improve the quality of my writing on note.
📈 3 KPIs (Progress Indicators)
Purchase 10 paid articles on topics like note monetization to establish your own 'style'.(Show your commitment by investing in yourself!)
1,000 followers, 50+ likes per article: (As proof of increased exposure) I use this as an indicator for the growth of my regular readership.
Have generative AI perform a 5-point evaluation, and post articles with a total score of 4.5 or higher.

By achieving these KPIs and thoroughly improving my article structure and interaction frequency, I was able to achieve the KGI of passing the thesis.
It’s a sense of accomplishment like reaching the ending of an RPG.
I wouldn't regret it even if I quit note now...though I won't quit.
Operating a note is not just about the 'time spent working hard,' but about the 'quantity and quality of what is conveyed.'
KPIs become the ultimate mentor that tells you whether you are working hard in the right direction.
3. Cutting off hesitation. A contrarian strategy of deciding 'what not to do' first
Now that I have achieved the KGI of passing the thesis, let me present my next KGI.
It’s starting to feel like DLC (downloadable content) for a game...
'Continue interacting happily without quitting until the 1st anniversary, and use it as a stepping stone for the 2nd year'

And, to dramatically increase the probability of achieving your KGI goal,
decide 'what you will not do' before deciding 'what you will work on.'
This is a protective wall to focus your time and concentration on the most important KSF (Key Success Factor).
🔥 The 'what not to do' list I decided on for my next goal
For my next KGI (continuing to interact happily until the 1st anniversary), I have intentionally excluded the following things that everyone else is working on.
Stop posting every day:
Switch to high-quality posts and focus on the quality of the 'number of comments,' which is a KPI.
Do not touch popular side hustle/monetization genres:
Although they are popular genres, there is a lot of competition and many creators who are better at monetization than I am, so I will focus on my own strengths (the goal achievement process).
Do not start a membership:
Focus on one-time purchase magazines and concentrate on one thing: 'expanding paid articles' (the next KPI).
This contrarian strategy prevents the lonely wandering of creators who tend to get swept away by the opinions of others and become exhausted.
The creators you admire have a strong conviction that is not swayed by those around them That conviction is born from clearly deciding what 'not to do'.
Summary
Only those who can continue with conviction will succeed.
If you continue to operate your note 'just because,'
your efforts will not be rewarded, and it will become a lonely, endless training session with no exit.
However, starting today, if you have a 'blueprint' consisting of KGI / KSF / KPI,
your note will turn into 'training to boost your self-esteem'.
Eventually, it will grow into 'a community where you can enjoy life'.
Since you're here, why not write down your goals?
What is your KGI (final goal)?
What are the KSF (key success factors) needed for that goal?
What are the KPIs (action metrics) that you can track starting today?
From the moment you write them down, your note will lose its 'uncertainty'.
If you read this article and felt
'I want to enjoy note more'
'I want to try KPI design myself'
, please follow me.
Let's aim to become 'creators without uncertainty' together.

I have created a new magazine for project managers!
There are no additional costs even when new articles are added! Please take a look!
For those who want to deepen this learning further...
I have started a 'paid magazine' where you can read all of my high-priced paid articles.
You can read not only the past paid articles but also any future articles added without any additional fees.
