My Diet History: How I Lost 12kg After Childbirth
My name is Yuripichi, and I lost 12kg after childbirth (from 60kg to 48kg), a weight I have managed to maintain even 13 years later😊
Since this is my first post, I would like to write about the diets I have tried so far.
I hope you will enjoy reading it😊
My first diet was in my first1year of junior high school.
My weight at the time was 52kg (height 156cm).
I tried the then-popular apple diet🍎 (a diet where you eat only apples for three meals a day for three days), and although I lost 3kg in three days, I regained it in two days😅
I spent my junior high school years having regained the weight😭
My next diet was during the summer vacation of my second2year of high school.
I skipped breakfast and dinner.
For lunch, I only ate two rice balls🍙 and vegetable miso soup.
I continued walking for 30 minutes in the evening and taking a half-body bath for 2 hours every day for a month, losing weight from 54kg to 48kg.
Nursing student days
After that, I continued skipping dinner for a while and managed to maintain my weight, but due to the stress of being a nursing student, I reached 56kg and decided to diet again💪
I continued the 2-hour half-body baths, daily aerobic exercise, 30 minutes to an hour of muscle training, and skipping dinner, and dropped to 47kg in two months.
After that, I became a nurse, and due to the stress of the unfamiliar work, I went down to 44kg.
I gradually got used to the work, and my weight increased to 48kg.
After that, I got married and gave birth.
I gained 12kg during my first pregnancy.
I also gained 12kg with my second.
After my first birth, perhaps because it was my first time raising a child, it was so difficult😂
I had no time to eat or sleep, and my weight returned to normal one month after giving birth, and I even lost about 2kg more.
Those days were tough~😅
The baby would cry as soon as I put them in the crib, as if they had a switch on their back...
So I held them all the time.
It felt more like I was worn out than that I had lost weight.
An elderly woman at the supermarket once asked me, 'Are you okay, Mom? Is the baby taking all your nutrition?' and a high school girl once gave me a candy and said, 'Hang in there, Mom.'
I guess I looked that exhausted😭
Then came the second birth.
The second child was no trouble at all; they would just fall asleep on their own while lying on the futon‼️
I didn't have to hold them, carry them on my back, or quietly and gently put them to bed❗️
What does this mean? Is childcare supposed to be this easy? I wondered.
But... I wasn't losing any weight at all❗️
My weight wouldn't budge‼️
I only lost 3kg after giving birth.
Is it normal not to lose weight after the second birth? Why?
I was at a loss, thinking, 'It went back to normal right away with the first one...'
I was panicking, thinking, 'If it stays like this, I won't be able to wear my lab coat when I return to work! What should I do?😱'
So, I started dieting again🏃♀️➡️
Since I was raising two children, I wondered how I could diet...
I was exclusively breastfeeding, so I wanted to get proper nutrition, and I wanted to exercise but had no time, so after thinking about it...
I decided to try dieting while doing other things and to take advantage of childcare.
The diet I did at that time
1. After dropping my eldest daughter off at nursery school, I wouldn't go straight home, but would take my second daughter for a 30-minute walk in the stroller before returning.
2. When I got home, my second daughter would be asleep, so I would do muscle training and stretching for about an hour until she woke up.
3. My meals were centered around Japanese-style set meals, and I reduced wheat products as much as possible.
4. I tried not to eat foods containing sugar.
5. I brushed my teeth while doing squats.
6. I played with my children with all my might⛹️♀️
I continued this for 10 months and was able to return to my pre-pregnancy weight of 48kg😊
Thanks to that, I was able to wear my lab coat easily and return to work✨✨
But this is where it really starts, isn't it?
How do I maintain my body shape...
Next time, I would like to write about how I have maintained my body shape for the 13 years since I lost the weight.
I am not a diet coach or an instructor, just an ordinary person, but I hope to share some wisdom that might be useful to you all.
Thank you for reading until the end😊
