Yayoi★'s Favorite Anime Ranking [2025]
I've watched a lot of interesting anime this past year.
Here is a ranking of the ones I, Yayoi★, got hooked on.
Though, it's fair to say there isn't much difference between the top 10.
I'm delivering this with my honest impressions attached.
Here we go.
15th Place
Crevates -The King of Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse of the Hero-
This was a dark horse for me.
I think I like the voice and tone of one of the protagonists, the female hero Alicia.
I love the bravery she shows as she rises from her struggles.
14th Place
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2
The drawing and character design are great, and I always look forward to the fashion.
I'm not a fan of the modern slang, but the pure heart of that gal is adorable.
13th Place
Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-
It's satisfying to watch the character level up more and more.
When they fought the bee-like creatures, I thought of "Hunter x Hunter".
I'm keeping an eye on where this is heading.
12th Place
"Baban Baban Ban Vampire"
The original work is interesting, and with a lineup of my favorite voice actors like Daisuke Namikawa, Katsuyuki Konishi, and Yuichi Nakamura, it was a must-watch.
The way nostalgic J-Pop lyrics are inserted into the story is subtly funny.
11th Place
"Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc Season 2"
Watching it now, there are some parts that feel a bit contradictory, but there's something about it that draws you in.
Is it nostalgia, or the centripetal force of the work's sheer power?
10th Place
"LAZARUS"
The character designs really stand out.
The drawing is beautiful, stylish, and cool.
The story is deep and constructed in a way that doesn't feel flawed.
I find myself watching it because I want to solve the mysteries.
9th Place
"TO BE HERO X"
The art, colors, and effects are just beautiful.
The premise that "trust" creates superheroes is interesting.
The story was hard to follow at first, but I was able to grasp it as the episodes went on.
Each hero has their own drama and they are all charming.
8th Place
"Shabake"
The voice actors express the Edo dialect carefully, which gives a good impression.
Perhaps because of that, it really feels like it captures the scent of the era.
The historical research and story are solid, so the narrative flows smoothly.
It made me want to read the original work.
7th Place
"Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE" Season 4, Cours 1 & 2
It has energy and momentum, making it fun to watch.
I love Suika; she is adorable.
The voice acting really carries this one, doesn't it?
6th Place
"Dandadan Season 2"
The noise in the first season was hard to take, but I've gotten used to it.
Turbo Granny is so cute that I find myself following her with my eyes.
Keep an eye on the budding romance between Okarun and Momo, too.
5th Place
"Gnosia"
The fashion and vibrant color palette are eye-catching.
It's a werewolf-hunting mystery that makes me rack my brain every time, wondering, 'What is going on?'
Beyond that, it's fascinating how the characters' hidden pasts and wounds are gradually revealed.
I wonder how it will all end.
4th Place
"Let's Play"
You could say it's just a story about the daily life of a young woman, but the way she innocently and clumsily faces her quests really resonates with me.
Since it's set in America, for example, when turning down a date, someone might say, 'I don't feel a spark,' and while that's not meant to hurt the other person but rather to be honest, it's a cultural difference where I feel, 'The line between yes and no is very clear.'
Yes, it's not just 'nothing special'—I was drawn to the interesting way it lets you learn about American romance and how people interact with each other.
3rd Place
"The Old Man from the Countryside Becomes a Sword Saint"
This was the dark horse among dark horses.
The voice actor for the middle-aged man is excellent.
A voice that exudes the warmth and thoughtfulness of a man who has experienced both the bitter and the sweet of life.
It's an oblivious overpowered protagonist story, but it's well-crafted rather than just convenient, and the character's humility makes it refreshing and easy to watch.
2nd Place
To Your Eternity Season 3
I hadn't watched Seasons 1 and 2, but I binged them when they were rebroadcast all at once right before Season 3 and got hooked.
March is just adorable, no matter what.
The voice actor is a perfect fit, doubling her cuteness.
I have to admire the skill of the voice actors, just like the one for Suika in Dr. STONE.
I've been frustrated with Mizuha throughout Season 3, but I can't take my eyes off how they'll resolve the battle with the Nokkers.
1st Place
SAND LAND: THE SERIES
This is number one.
Akira Toriyama's work is undeniably interesting.
The grand story development mixed with a bit of silliness makes it delightful.
The art, the story, and the voice acting are all superb.
