Playlist Introduction 6 / "Days When Things Don't Go Well"
Continuing from last time, I would like to introduce playlists and songs.
Up until now, I have introduced playlists and songs about
・Romance
・Love
・Heartbreak
・Dangerous Love
, which are “love” related themes.

Starting from this time, I will be introducing playlists that are not about "love".
First up is a playlist for “days when things don't go well”.
Days when you feel lethargic and just can't find any motivation.
Days when you make many mistakes at work.
Days when you are troubled by human relationships.
Days when your self-esteem drops and you lose sight of your own worth.
Even on such “days when things don't go well” where you don't even feel like listening to music,
these are songs that make you think, "Maybe I'll give them a listen."
I have compiled into a playlist the music that gently stays by your side,
the music that rescues you from rock bottom,
like a "lifeline".
😖Days when things don't go well😖
(113 songs as of now)
In any case, “days when nothing goes right” songs to listen to.
This time, I will introduce 7 songs from this playlist that have particularly saved my heart.
1. Aogumo / #MyPersonalLife
I'll do it later, I don't want to do anything
I have things to do but I guess it can wait
Just like this, doing nothing,
the date changes again, it's exhausting
My life is on the verge of collapse right now
A reality I barely escaped with my life
Running away is actually pretty hard too
On my days off, I am exactly like this song.
Even though I have things I should do, I can't do anything, I can't move, I get depressed about being like that, and it just drains my mental energy even more.
Running away, or even giving myself permission to run away, isn't an easy thing to do.
"On my days off, I sleep until past noon, and the day ends without me being able to do anything, which always makes me want to die."
Even if I tell people around me this, they don't really understand.
Things like "You get depressed over something like that?" or
"Isn't it happy enough just to be able to relax on your day off!" or
"Don't die!"
That's not what it's about at all.
This song is the only thing that acknowledges my pain.
Even on days when I'm so lethargic that I don't even feel like listening to music, for some reason, I can listen to this song.
And, it seems Aogumo, who creates this music, is only 15 years old.
I think it's amazing that there are so many young artists lately, but I think Aogumo is the prime example of "someone who is amazing despite being young".
I also listened endlessly to Aogumo's first song, "The song title is not decided yet", because it had many parts that overlapped with my own worries and conflicts in creative activities.
I feel like I could listen to this "#MyPersonalLife" hundreds of times too.
2. Neguse. / Baby Baby Baby
I hate myself for trampling on the kindness someone gave me
I can't keep up with life
I won't change unless I'm evaluated
Hey, hey, baby!
I don't even want to know
how many people in this world have peace of mind.
I'm afraid to know.
"I hate myself for trampling on the kindness someone gave me"
I relate so much to this opening part.
When I don't have any emotional capacity, I can't even interact with people, and even if someone reaches out with kindness, I can't even accept that. I can only trample on it.
And then, the negative loop of hating myself even more for that.
At first, I only listened to love songs by Neguse.
However, when I saw them perform live at a festival, they played this song, "Hey, hey, baby!," and it was so good I almost cried. Since then, I've loved this song too.
This is true for artists other than Neguse as well, but I feel that many artists who sing love songs or breakup songs that resonate with your heart also have many songs that lift you up from rock bottom on days when things aren't going well, affirming that it's okay to be alive.
3. CreepHyp / Twenty-nine, Thirty
If I tell a lie, I'll be hated.
If I speak my true feelings, I'll be laughed at.
The perfect spot is already taken,
and there's nowhere left to go back to now.
If I were to be reborn,
I'd rather become a home appliance.
If I were something like an air purifier,
I feel like I could get by easily.
Just staying silent without saying anything,
pretending to read the room,
just like me, who only watches from afar.
When my heart was truly at its limit, I couldn't meet people, and I could barely walk.
I feel like I was saved by listening to this song during those times.
Especially this lyric:
"If I tell a lie, I'll be hated. If I speak my true feelings, I'll be laughed at."
I truly relate to this so much.
If you tell people your true feelings too much, strange rumors get spread about you, you get mocked, or laughed at.
On the other hand, continuing to lie and go along with people is suffocating, and I end up hating myself for doing it.
If I talk happily without caring about appearances, I end up unintentionally hurting people or causing trouble.
Later on, I end up hanging my head in shame at my own immaturity.
But even so, if I worry about what others think, read the room constantly, erase my presence, and become like air, I feel empty.
I become a person who doesn't matter whether I'm there or not, needed by no one. I have to live by continuing to lie not just to others, but to myself.
Eventually, I start to lose sight of my own value.
I know that worrying about what others think doesn't do any good, but
even so, in the end, I worry too much about what others think.
No matter how many years pass, I continue to be troubled by the difficulty of human relationships and the distance between people.
Even when I am in that"limit"state, this is a song that makes me think I can somehow move forward slowly, at my own pace.
4. Kaneyorimasaru / At a Speed That Can't Be Seen
I can't act cheerful, I can't act kind,
it's painful, it's painful.
Living with a bitter smile, living as a loser,
my heart,
how could someone like that ever understand?
The me of that day,
I am the only one who wants to protect her.
Until I burn up and turn to ash someday,
I don't want to belong to anyone.
I can truly relate to every single thing about this song, too.
To the point where I suspect they might have turned my own heart into lyrics.
A girl who is cuter than me, more capable than me, and more loved by everyone than me.
A girl who has everything I wanted but couldn't get.
When someone like that was near me, I felt nothing but miserable, wanting to cry, as if my heart had been scraped away to the core.
But even in that situation, I had to act cheerful, kind, as if I wasn't thinking about anything at all.
Even though I was supposed to, I couldn't even manage to act cheerful.
That makes me feel even more miserable and pained with myself.
Compared to those around me, I am a"loser".
But I can't even try hard to catch up.
Because if I try to work hard, I'll break.
I have no choice but to give up, live as a"loser", and force myself to affirm who I am.
Someone like her could never understand my suffering, and I don't need her to understand it ever.
I believe that"saving my past self"is my true mission.
The reason I work hard now, and the reason I write, is all to save thesuffering me from back then.
I think this song perfectly voices the mission in my life in the form of a strong"determination"or"resolve".
5. Haikaburi / Trompe-l'œil
So let's somehow
deceive these painful nights.
What's wrong with cheating
to keep from dying?
What else but pretty lies
could wash the world clean?
Trompe-l'œil,
until the illusion becomes reality.
It's not a night of only bad things,
so live, as best you can.
"What's wrong with cheating to keep from dying?"
These lyrics. They pierced my heart.
It is no exaggeration to say that I am"living so that I don't die".
No matter how much I wear myself out working hard, no matter how much I endure unreasonable things, no matter how much status or honor I might gain,
I think it's meaningless if I die.
It's okay to be a cheat."Running away"is fine too.
It's fine if no one understands.
Even if I end up causing trouble for others or hurting people, it can't be helped.
Regardless, I want to keep living with the goal of"not dying".
The title of this song,"Trompe-l'œil", seems to mean"optical illusion".
It is a painting technique known as"trick art".
"Trompe-l'œil", like that, I will live while deceiving myself andusing self-suggestion.
I will wash away all my painful emotions and feelings of not being able to like myself with"pretty lies", and somehow keep living.
If I do that, someday it will become reality.
I want to believe that.
6. Azami / Hit Them Healthily
There are days when you want to be held
by a cold monster
or even by a hero,
and you live nobly while hiding it all away.
I think you don't need to worry about
those people who trample all over you
without understanding that.
Frowning fighter,
you are the strongest one,
it doesn't matter if your desk is gone.
A devoted answer,
I'll make it ring out so they never make you apologize
for being too right ever again.
Don't swallow it and get hurt again,
your own way of revenge is fine.
This is all you need to dirty your palms with,
Graphite.
I don't know how many times this song has saved me.
When I'm in a group, like at school or work.
When I couldn't fit in with the vibe, couldn't talk to anyone, and was tormented by loneliness.
When there were too many things I couldn't do that others could, and I lost sight of my own worth.
When no one understood my pain.
When the values I hold dear were trampled upon.
For me, who was in despair with nowhere to be saved, nowhere to escape, and no place for my heart, this song was the only thing thatgave me a place to belong.
No matter how painful the moment, just by playing this song in my head, I was able to get through it.
It is truly a song that is likea "talisman."No matter what anyone says, you should just keep living while believing in your own convictions.
Retaliating against those who hurt you isn't the only form of"revenge."It's fine to have
your own way of livingandyour own way of doing things. It's a song that made me realize that most important thing.
7. the she's gone / Aid
No matter how much you do,
no matter how poorly it turns out,
you've been doing your best, haven't you?
To keep moving forward,
lighten the load in your heart's backpack.
Kick the words of denial into the sky
and turn them into possibilities.
Like breathing underwater,
keep moving forward even while struggling.
The way you move and your pace are fine as they are.
Don't doubt it; keep believing in yourself.
At work, I was the only one who couldn't do things well compared to those around me, and I felt sick almost every day.
When I listened to this song at such a time, I almost burst into tears.
“No matter how much you do, no matter how poorly it turns out,
you've been doing your best, haven't you?”
This phrase alone saved me.
It hit me so hard that I wondered if these lyrics were written for me.
Also, the expression“like breathing underwater”is striking.
The frustration of not being able to breathe even when you try, not being able to move forward even when you try, and nothing going the way you want.
I was covered in goosebumps when I first heard that someone could express that indescribable feeling so accurately.
However, this is not a song that just lines up bright and positive platitudes.
It's also not a song that forces you to keep going.
It accepts your pain, acknowledges it, and then stays by your side, making you think, 'Maybe I can try again.'
I think it is such agentle and overly warm song.
This time, I introduced songs to listen to on“days when things don't go well”.
Even on days when I felt so miserable I wanted to die,
even in the depths of despair where nothing could be done,
it was always“music”that saved me.
“Music”saved me, and“music”has kept me alive.
That is precisely why I want to deliver the songs that saved my heart to as many people as possible.
And I also hope that, in turn, I can become someone who can“save others”through my own work and my own writing.
Next time, I plan to introduce songs to listen to on days you want to do your best and songs that help you feel positive.
I would be happy if you continue to watch!
