Summary of "Space Commons" Series Articles
As the primary actors in space business shift globally from governments to the private sector, the way we use outer space and space resources, as well as the process of rule-making, has entered an era where dialogue is necessary not only between nations, but also between nations and companies, between companies, and with private organizations. In this context, the concept of "commons"—a shared resource that possesses the characteristics of both government and private sectors—is being utilized in terrestrial society as a concept (thought) to open up the future.
At IISE, we view space as a single commons and, by comparing it with terrestrial commons, explore its possibilities from various angles and share the future vision and challenges of "Space Commons."
