I want to read your articles properly. Why I'm turning the Handmade Note Club into a 'Small Editorial Room'
It's not just when view counts are low that writing on note feels lonely. You can feel anxious because you don't know if it's actually being read properly.
The views went up, and you got likes.
But you don't know what was good about that article or what actually got across.
“There are likes, but maybe they pressed it without reading?”
I think there are quite a few people who have felt that way.
I have too.
That is precisely why, in the Handmade Note Club, I want to properly put into words the merits of articles that cannot be seen through numbers alone.
What I want to do in the Handmade Note Club is not 'increase numbers'.
I want to make it a place to read the articles written as works of art.
I want to make it a place to read the articles themselves, not a place to celebrate reaching numbers. I want to put into words why that writing remained in my heart. That is what I want to do in the Handmade Note Club.
Until now, I have introduced members in their entirety.
Up until now, I have introduced various favorite creators.
By 'introduce,' I don't just mean posting a link and writing 'this person is amazing.' I have read their articles and turned them into a single, complete article from my own perspective, explaining where their charm lies and why they remained in my heart.
Here are examples of introductions using angles tailored to each person's articles.
1. Introductions that support challenges
In Tee-san's article, I actually purchased Chiran tea and wrote not only about the taste, but also about the fear of challenging high-priced products and the reasons why I wanted to support them.
2. Introductions that analyze personality
In Dorago-san's article, I deciphered 'why people want to comment on this person's articles' from the perspective of Congratulatory Boards and comment interactions.
3. Introductions that guide you through the world of the work
In Dr. Mofuneko's article, I guided readers through the world of AI art as an 'art museum in the city of note'.
4. Introductions that discover individuality and writing style
In NATSU_Hakatakko-san's article, I was drawn to their Hakata dialect writing style and character, and introduced them while overlapping it with my own work experience.
5. Introductions that analyze strengths and reasons for growth
In Sanshita-san's article, I wrote about the value of the note success analysis magazine and why I felt it was likely to grow.
6. Introductions that build a story from the work
There have also been times when I wrote what I received from Dr. Mofuneko's work as a single story.
7. Introductions that find common themes from multiple articles
I focused on the articles about long-established coffee shops that AYU visited, and deciphered what they kept and what they changed as they continued, as hints for continuing note for a long time.
The form of an introduction changes depending on the person.
Sometimes I delve deeply into a single article, and other times I look across multiple articles to find a common perspective or worldview. It might become a product review, an appreciation of a work, an analysis of personality, or an interpretation of how they use note. Sometimes, I write about what I received from a work as my own story.
What I want to cherish is reading the other person's articles and activities properly and finding the charm that is unique to them.
In the Handmade Note Club, I prioritize reading members' articles.
You can share 'articles you want me to read' on the bulletin board, and from those, I will read and interpret the ones that moved me or that I felt I wanted to introduce.
Sometimes I will publish them as introduction articles, and other times I will write tips for improvement exclusively for members. However, I will not force myself to mass-produce introduction articles. If I am going to feature them, I want to read them properly and put into words what I truly felt.
I cannot guarantee that I will always be able to introduce them, but when I do feature them, I will read and interpret them as carefully as possible, rather than just providing a link.
I also want to carefully read and interpret articles for the Creative Awards.
Currently, the Creative Awards are also being held on note.
I believe that articles entered in the Creative Awards are works that the writers feel strongly about. That is why I want to write careful reviews that go beyond just saying 'I'm rooting for you,' by explaining what is interesting about the article, where the writer's individuality lies, and what I received as a reader.
For the first installment, I wrote a review of Natsume Mizukoshi's Creative Award entry, 'Is consultant thinking useful in daily life?'
What we will do in the Handmade Note Club
In the Handmade Note Club, we will do the following:
Reading and interpreting members' articles
Reviews and analysis of Creative Award entry articles
Tips for improving titles, introductions, structure, and the feeling after reading
Behind the scenes of introducing note creators I like
Reflecting on operations to keep enjoying Note
I will not only introduce articles, but also think about why those articles are good and how they can be made easier to convey.
For example, is the appeal conveyed in the title?
Are you drawing the reader in at the beginning?
Are there any parts where the structure gets lost?
What remains after reading?
Are the links to related articles or memberships natural?
I will share these things based on my own experience in operating Note.
This is suitable for people like this
People who want their articles to be read properly.
People who want to be seen not just for numbers, but as creators.
People who want someone to read their Creative Grand Prize articles.
People who want to know the good points of their own articles.
People who want to continue Note happily and for a long time.
The Handmade Note Club is a place suitable for such people.
It might not be suitable for people like this
People who want to increase sales immediately.
People who want to increase likes or followers in a short period.
People who expect mutual purchases or exchanging likes.
People who just want to be praised rather than receive points for improvement.
To those who want their articles to be read properly
I don't want to make the Handmade Note Club a large community. I want to make it a place where written articles are properly read and their merits are discovered. I will nurture it little by little as such a small editorial room.
I want someone to read my articles properly.
I want to be seen as a creator, not as a number.
I want someone to find the good points I can't notice myself in other words.
If you have even a little bit of that feeling, please take a look at the Handmade Note Club.
Please let me read your articles too.
