Well, I've just been posting illustrations every day, but I thought I'd pick one and briefly share the intent behind it and some thoughts on the composition (/・ω・)/

Today's piece

This piece was created with the image of 'the world expanding inside me the moment I listen to music' being brought out into the open. I placed the headphones not just as a gadget, but as a 'gateway to the world,' and structured it so that colors and shapes overflow from there.

I placed the character in the center and surrounded the whole thing with a circular shape to express the expansion of sound and a sense of immersion. To let the gaze flow naturally from the center to the outside, I repeated circular motifs to create a sense of rhythm. Music is invisible, but I hope that through this repetition, you can visually feel something like a 'tempo'.

As for the colors, I used a high-saturation, pop color scheme as a base. By centering on pink, cyan, and yellow, I wanted to convey positive emotions like fun and brightness directly. However, since there are many colors, it can easily look cluttered, so I tightened the whole thing with black outlines and left white space to maintain balance.

The relationship between the character and the background is intentionally ambiguous. By creating the clothing patterns and background motifs in the same context, I made it so that rather than the character just 'being there,' the character and the world are 'integrated.' This was to express the feeling of being immersed in music, where the boundary between yourself and the outside world slightly dissolves.

The eye design is part of that as well, using concentric circle-like expressions. Rather than a realistic gaze, it expresses a state where consciousness is turned inward, a feeling of being slightly in a trance. However, the expression itself is soft, so I adjusted it to keep it 'fun' without becoming too heavy.

Overall, I kept the amount of information quite high to give a 'feeling of overflowing energy,' while being conscious of controlling it with composition and color to create a balance that is pleasant to look at. It is a piece that captures the feeling of 'the world looking a little more colorful' when you are listening to music.
