The back alley exists with the password 'What is this story about?'
Since I am in the middle of a collection period, I was hesitant about what to do, but I really wanted to write this. The other day, I wrote about a 'dream I want to fulfill' for a contest, saying, 'I want to collect children's "What is this story about?"' I understand it myself. There is no time. It is idealistic. I don't even know if it's good or bad. But if I don't speak up, nothing will begin. In the first place, the fact that everyone understands what I mean by 'I want to collect "What is this story about?"' is a miracle compared to three years ago. I never thought words would carry such meaning.
Over the past week, various people have shared it, and some have even written articles about children's 'What is this story about?' I am truly grateful. I thought, this might actually be achievable. Meanwhile, my only pen pal, the author Sou Machi, also known as Machi, emailed me asking if it would be okay to talk about 'What is this story about?' because she was going to give a class at an elementary school. And she actually talked about it in class.
What Machi talked about in class.
〇Finally, I will tell you a magic spell that will make everyone happy.
That magic spell is 'What is this story about?' There are two ways to use this magic spell, 'What is this story about?'
The first is magic to 'become an author.' Even if you try writing a novel, you might not be able to finish it. The story might get messy, you might lose track of what you wanted to write, and you might stop writing halfway through. In such cases, please write 'What is this story about?' at the end of the novel. If you write 'What is this story about?' at the end, it is a wonderful spell that ensures even the most chaotic story is properly completed! If you repeat this many times, you will get better and better at writing novels and become a real author! The second is using 'What is this story about?' as a password to 'wander into the world of the back alley.' There is a fun place called the 'back alley' somewhere in this world. There, the residents freely engage in activities they love, such as writing novels, drawing illustrations, singing songs, creating manga, and various other things. It is a fun place where residents become friends, create works together, and make lifelong best friends. What you need to wander into that back alley is the magic spell 'What is this story about?' You cannot enter the back alley without this magic spell. If there is anyone who thinks they would like to go to that fun place, please look for where the back alley is. And if you can find the back alley and enter, tell the manager of the back alley, 'I heard about it from Sou Machi and came in,' and something good might happen☆
The back alley really exists, but I will not teach you how to enter it. Please find it yourself.
It is the best. I thought it was good that I kept doing this until now. Starting from nothing, the back alley that we all created together was actually conveyed to elementary school students as existing somewhere in the world with 'What is this story about?' as the password.
This way of playing, this feeling. This is it, isn't it? It made me very happy.
I think this form is fine. I have not forced anything in the past, and I will not force anything in the future. I just think it is fine for people who are enjoying themselves to gather periodically and laugh at each other, saying, 'That's so silly.'
I hope that only we who know will continue to spread it somewhere in the future while playing and having fun, without even teaching how to use it, saying,'It seems the back alley that uses "What is this story about?" really exists somewhere in this world.'.
Perhaps it will spread even further, and the day when we can enjoy the fun of playing while pretending to know nothing might be near.
It would be fun if I could grin and say, 'Actually, I'm in the back alley too, you know.'
I have received various articles from everyone this week as well, and I am collecting them, but what I am always thinking is, 'How should I return this to everyone?'
There are people who write whatever they think on their own and immediately react or take action like this. I think I am blessed. I can only return it by enjoying it in my own way, so I hope you will bear with me.
Thank you for always entertaining me.
I will return to collecting. I am gradually falling behind. I am sorry.
I cannot reply to comments.
