ðŒSimple Guide to Using noteðŒ Articulating the purpose of your account to clarify the 'reason to be followed.' I turned my answer to a question box submission into an article because it got too longãMy First noteã
Good morning.
I have answered the question I received in my question box.
Since it became quite long and I kept thinking of more things I wanted to write, I decided to turn it into an article.
I am very happy to receive questions in the box, comments, and of course 'likes,' as they make me feel that you are reading my articles.
Thank you always.
The contents are as listed in the table of contents.
I have also included a list that acts like a worksheet you can apply to yourself; while it is just one example, please feel free to use it when you want toarticulateyour own accountâª

I answered a question from the question box
Q
I have been on note for about a year. I think the meaning of a 'follow' on note might differ depending on the person who owns the account. I personally analyze that this lack of deep understanding regarding the meaning of a follow is a barrier to asking for follows. (Actually, I find it hard to ask for follows.) I think there are multiple patterns for the meaning of a follow, but is there a way for note creators to effectively distinguish between them?
To start with the conclusion, I think it becomes a natural way to ask if you first clarify youraccount's purposeand 'who you want to follow you', and then are able to convey to those people 'what they will gain by following you'.
Also, the purpose for both the person wanting to be followed and the person doing the following may not be singular.
When I have something I want to write, something I want to convey, or want to interact, my ideal is to be able to respond flexibly depending on the situation and the other person!
What is even more natural, I think, iscontent that resonates, such as other people's worries, joys, hobbies, or shared interests.
Rather than putting the words 'I want you to read' or 'I want you to follow' at the forefront, an account that naturally gathers people who resonate with it is also ideal.
(Only this account mentions mutual follows, so I am putting 'I want you to follow' at the forefront here.)
Now, I am going to paste the answer I gave, but it is quite candid.

Thank you for your question!
When asking for follows, I think it is more about how you want to operate each account rather than by genre.
For example, even with the same 'How to use note' theme as me, there are various purposes such as wanting to increase follower count, wanting to interact with peers, being satisfied if people just read the articles, or wanting to lead people to memberships.
First, it is easier to think if you define your ownaccount's purposeand clarify 'who you want to follow you'.
In my case, since the theme of this account is 'How to use note,' the audience I want to follow me is mainly the following three:
ã»Initially, I wantnumbersof followers to increase the credibility of my articles (I state 'I basically do mutual follows')
ã»Peers who can support each other (mutual follows and interaction through comments and likes)
ã»note beginners or those struggling to grow (essential readers)
And while this is just an assumption, the reasons readers follow are also individual.
ã»Mutual follow purpose
ã»Interaction purpose
ã»Information gathering (peers)
ã»Wanting to read more (essential)
ã»Support, fan, the black Shiba icon is cute, etc.
ã»Just because, for now
If you think about 'who you want to follow you' first, I think the way you convey it will naturally be decided. This is because you can convey 'what they can gain' from your account rather than just saying 'please follow me.'
I have never directly said 'please follow me,' just mentioning 'I do mutual follows' in my profile or 'please leave a commentâª' in my articles.
For the essential readers of the article theme, I think it is best to provideinformation about the next article(title, theme, etc.) and have them follow naturally, but in reality, I don't have the next article decided, and I pull in past articles I want them to read via links, so I feel it doesn't have to be that style.
If I were to doregular updatesonce or twice a week, I thought I could provide information about the next article and lead that to followsð€ (a note to self)
It got a bit long, so would it be okay if I turned this into an article with specific examples? (I tried hard to write it and the character count increased significantly.)
Thank you for your comment. If you have anything else you would like to ask in the future, please feel free to do so via the question box, or via message, although it will no longer be anonymousâª

Examples of my own accounts
The following are examples of the purposes and target audiences I want to follow for other accounts I operate.
I don't plan on posting the details of the accounts for now, so the expressions might be vague and hard to understand.
â Personal account linked to an EC site
ã»I want a certain number of followers, but I write whatever I want, so I'm fine with only those whoempathizewith me, and I want to operate it whilevaluing the atmosphereã»If you follow, you might be able to read tips on organizing your life while cherishing things, time, hobbies, and yourself. (It's embarrassing to write this myself)
â¡ EC site account
ã»I also want them to bepotential customersfor sales, so I don't do mutual follows (I might have done it at the beginning)
ã»Since the content of the articles is connected to thephilosophyof the EC site, I want people who gather throughempathyã»People who might be interested in the EC site's products
ã»For those interested in the environment, society, and living, I think it will become
knowledgebecause I explain related terms
⢠Physical store (currently being rebuilt while keeping the account as is)
ã»I am rewriting the articles from scratch, and although I don't state it, I do mutual followsif the genre matchesã»I hope to have a wide age range of customers
ã»
Store informationis the main focus
⣠Diary and daily life account
ã»Since it is a diary, there is nothing in particular I want to convey
ã»Mutual follow with people who seem to be able to empathize and those with similar hobbies
ã»Not based on benefits, but aplace to just connect loosely while empathizing
†An account like a dictionary written almost entirely by AI
ã»I feel like I want followers because I think it would be good if I could connect to something, but for nowjust writing about things I'm interested inis fine
ã»for my own sakeperhaps because I write in a short and easy-to-read style, my followers are gradually increasing
ã»It's only things I'm interested in, but common terms are explained in an easy-to-understand way, andknowledgeincreases (probably)
Other personal accounts and agency accounts have various purposes, but they are mostly the same as above.
That is all.
I wrote the conclusion first, so please go back to the top for the summary. lol
It got long, so I tried to write as concisely as possible, but if it's hard to understand, please feel free to askâª
