How I, Who Feel Too Much, Overcame the 'Difficulty of Living'
๐ "Everyone else can do it, so why
can't I do it right?"
๐ "Is it strange that I get
so tired from things like this?"
๐ "If I could just act more normally,
I wouldn't have to worry so much..."
๐ "I can't do things like everyone else."
โโDon't you also have the feeling
that you are "a little different"?
I felt that way for a long time, too.
I thought I was "off," and in order to
act just like everyone else,
I desperately tried to "correct" myself.
โฆBut I couldn't.
What is "normal," anyway?
Who decided what is "normal"?

๐นBeing in the "minority" just means being "different,"
it does not mean being "wrong."
The unconscious conditioning that
minority = inferior.
But isn't that because society's
"dominant framework" and education
have prioritized efficiency and conformity
over sensitivity?
The majority is not
necessarily "correct."
In fact, there are views that can only be seen
because you are in the minority.
Being "different" is not being "off-track," but
"another axis".

๐นPerhaps society is simply
designed for the "majority."
We HSPs are sensitive to
sounds, light, and even the emotions of others,
deeply hurt by a single word from someone,
or overwhelmed by the atmosphere of a place
and exhausted.
That is not a "personality that feels too much," but
"the ability to perceive things."
But society treats such sensitivity
as over-spec.
We are treated as "outcasts,"
treated like "misfits,"
called "difficult to deal with,"
and in a society built to accommodate
people who "don't need to be perceptive,"
we are labeled as "hypersensitive"
and our sense of isolation deepens.
But perhaps,
we are just being made into a "minority."

๐นThe me from back when I thought
"I am the only one who is off."
I am not good at noisy places
or places with many people.
When I am in a group,
my breathing gradually becomes shallow,
and even if everyone else is having fun,
my heart feels far away.
I am too sensitive to people's moods,
and even when nothing is said,
I think, "Are they angry?"
or "Did I hurt them?"
However,
"This was not my defect"is what I was able to think.
Being sensitive was
nothing to be ashamed of,
nor was it something to be fixed.
It was the power to find"sensations that have not been put into words."

๐นThe minority is, in itself, a "quiet potential."
"I am a minority."
Those who can call themselves that
are people with the power to look at themselves.
They are people who can face "differences"
and notice "pain."
Your sensitivity
can give a name to emotions
that no one has been able to put into words yet.
That sensibility becomes a power
to change the world into something softer and warmer.
The "me" who feels too much
is both an ability and a talent.
It is okay to be a minority.
So, please, just stay
as you areโโโ
