My Heart's Sensor: Feeling Compatibility Through Scent
When you get close to someone...
なんとなく 落ち着かない
息くるしい
近くにいるのが つらいHave you ever felt that way?
Conversely, with someone you meet for the first time,
安心する
居心地がいい
前もどこかで会った気がするhave you ever felt that kind of "inexplicable" sense of security?
I have, many times. But I have always thought that feeling was just "my imagination." I wondered if I was just being overly sensitive.
That "imagination" was actually a "heart's sensor."

What humans feel as "Scent (Sense of Smell)"
Scent is the "sense" that the heart reacts to the fastest.
Among the five human senses, it is the only one that bypasses "reason" and connects directly to the "part of the brain that governs emotions"—
Scent does not pass through the cerebral cortex (the thinking brain) but reaches the "limbic system," which governs emotions, memories, and instincts, directly. In other words,
your heart and body are reacting before your head even thinks about it.

Actually, we unconsciously distinguish the differences in others' immune genes through "scent." This is an instinct we possess as living beings to preserve healthy and diverse genes.
In other words, the person whose "scent feels comfortable" to you might be a person who is balanced at the genetic level.

🍀 Feeling safe with Mom's scent. 🍀 Sensing the same scent in a friend. 🍀 Feeling relieved by the scent of a lover's clothes.
Scent has the power of a sedative for the heart. Before words, we judge whether someone is safe through their "scent."
People who are highly sensitive, like us HSPs or sensitive individuals, tend to pick up on this particularly acutely.
In the past, I used to blame myself for being sensitive to scents.
● I lack patience ● Maybe there's a problem with my personality ● If I worry about things like that, I can't maintain relationships ● It's just my imagination
But that wasn't the case. My body was simply reacting properly to "that scent." My heart was giving me a "NO" sign to protect me.

Please cherish your "somehow" feelings.
We perceive the world through senses that are quieter, deeper, and more delicate than what we see or hear in words.
Scent is one of them.
Does that scent give you a sense of "comfort"
or does it
alert you to a "feeling of unease"?

Please,
do not ignore that inner
heart sensor.
Because it is the
first sign for living
while cherishing the existence that is "me".
What kind of scent is your heart's sensor
feeling right now?
