Sorry for being persistent. But there is something I really want to tell the noters who were hurt by the harsh reviews.
I am truly sorry for being so persistent and rubbing it in, but I really wanted to write this.
This is a sequel (?) to yesterday's note.
In the "100 Note Memberships Slashed" project (that's not the actual name), I was also slashed, so I decided to write my thoughts on it.
At the time of writing the article above, I wanted to express my honest feelings, so I intentionally did not read the opinions or impressions of other slashed noters.
However, after I finished writing the article, I wandered around Note and X to see how everyone else was reacting, and a certain post caught my eye.
話題のnoteメンバーシップ辛口レビュー。

私も名前が上がっているのでめちゃくちゃ気にはなるものの、酷評されてるんだろうな…とか考えてしまい怖くて買えない。
Yurily-san, I'm sorry for quoting you without permission.
But somehow, after reading this, I felt like I couldn't just sit still.
Even though I eventually purchased the harsh review article, the moment I saw it, I felt exactly the same way as Yurily-san did.
Among the 100 people who received reviews, there might be others who continue to harbor a vague sense of anxiety and fear, thinking, "I'm too scared to read it, but I'm curious."
If the population of my beloved Note village decreases because of that, I would find that very sad.
I would hate it if wonderful creators, including Yurily-san, disappeared before I knew it.
Sorry for sounding like a hypocrite. But this is my honest opinion.
So, although this is extremely meddlesome, I wanted to leave a personal message as someone who "read all the reviews" for the noters who are hurt by being exposed to the harsh reviews.
If yesterday's article was addressed to Okamura-san,this article is addressed to the membership owners who were slashed and everyone who was thinking of trying out a membership in the future as well.
If you don't like these kinds of topics, please turn back now.
Also, for this post, I am writing without taking into account my own abilities or track record as a membership owner.
- Conclusion: I feel like "it's difficult to satisfy everyone" is a good enough answer.
A night has passed since I read the harsh reviews, and this is what I have concluded.
As I wrote in yesterday's article, the reviewer, Okamura-san, was not the persona I intended to "subscribe and read" my content.
Setting aside all the issues with my own membership that I was already aware of, even if I were to be harshly criticized by someone like Okamura-san, my feeling is, "Well... of course you'd say that if you were the one reading it..."
Even when reading the reviews for others, there were many times I thought, "Isn't that just because you're not the target audience?"
I don't know what criteria were used to select the 100 people, but if it's clear that Okamura-san doesn't fit the profile of the "person the owner wants to read their content," then of course it's going to be a harsh review.
It's a perfectly valid argument to say, "I don't care about personas or targets, just satisfy everyone who paid to read it!" butit is impossible to satisfy everyone in this world.
As someone on the choosing side, there is no way a user or reader can say, 'You are not my target audience, so please don't read this,' and it is common in any field for people other than your intended customers to show up.
My membership didn't satisfy Mr. Okamura, but it is a fact that there are members who give me a 'high rating' after reading every time, and several people who purchase my articles individually even without a membership registration.
Although there is room for improvement, the value is not zero, and for other owners' memberships, even if there is only one reader or member, it has sufficient value.
- There is no single way for a membership to exist, and there is no single correct answer.
My membership isn't growing, so this has no persuasive power, but I'll say it anyway, setting that aside.
The way a membership exists is not just one thing.
Yesterday, besides Yurily-san's post, I also found this.
辛口レビューnoteに対して思うこと。

一方で、”自信はないけど一歩踏み出してメンシプに挑戦してみた人”もいるだろう。…
Truly, I think everyone who runs a membership has their own various thoughts.
Some people want to make a living on note with 'being useful to others' as their weapon, while others think, 'I only want those who want to read it to read it,' regarding real essays or diaries that are hard to make public but they want someone to listen to.
Even if there is only one member, there must be people who update their articles as if they are writing a letter to that one person, cherishing them.
Even if there are almost no updates, there are also people who provide the value of 'a sense of belonging' to users as a place like a fan club.
And there are also people who have started their first membership with baby steps, thinking, 'I don't really know what this is, but I like note, so I want to try it.'
Everyone lives in the note village with various thoughts.
Just as working hours, sleeping hours, and what we eat differ in the real world, it is natural for note and memberships to have different ways of being used and approached depending on the owner.
As Simplist Yamada-san says, note is a free space.
As long as you are receiving money from readers, it is the owner's responsibility to make an effort to satisfy them, but 'what you do and with how much passion' is also the owner's freedom.
I believe that a membership is about creating a comfortable space with members who understand and empathize with it, regardless of the number of people.
- I hope that the note village will always remain healthy.
It's not just this one incident; I feel that the atmosphere of the note platform has changed recently.
I'm probably not the only one who thinks so.
Change is inevitable in everything, and I don't want to deny that things change.
Even though this incident wasn't personally pleasant, if you consider even harsh reviews as the 'free thought' of a single creator, I have no desire to deny the project itself.
However, one thing I think is I truly hope note remains a warm and healthy place.
Since I first started on note, I have written many articles about the platform.
That is how much I truly love this place called note.
More than any other social media, it allows for diversity, and there are people who accept that or simply leave you be.
It may be a selfish thought, but that is the kind of place I feel note is.
I know it is ironic for me to say this while I am still dwelling on this matter, but I really hate the idea of factions forming between those who reviewed and those who were reviewed.
And above all, if an owner who was hurt ends up quitting note, I would hate that too.
I also hate the idea of people who were looking forward to enjoying note feeling like, "It seems scary, so I'll pass."
I am not saying we all have to be best friends, but let's continue to enjoy note while maintaining a good distance from one another.
Even though everyone has their own preferences, I think every creator has their own unique personality that makes them interesting.
I am not quitting note, and I hope you won't either.
I might get scolded for "acting like I'm in a position to say this," but that is what I felt I wanted to convey to everyone after this incident.
