In my 60s, I am taking on the challenge of monetization on note.
I am Kumataro Yokoyama, a training instructor and sign language interpreter.
While utilizing AI, I share information for seniors, as well as introductions to books and gadgets.
Today, I will talk about what I am doing.
Because I am caring for my mother, I am not currently working outside the home.
To be honest, this life, which began at the end of last year, has been a major turning point.
However, it is not that I am "doing nothing."
I am currently striving daily, focusing on note, with the goal of living off income earned with just a computer.
My goal is clear.
To accumulate effort throughout this year and earn enough income to live comfortably starting next year.
It is not an overly grand dream.
But for me, it is a significant challenge.
Current sources of income
My current income comes from the following three sources:
Paid articles on note (separate account)
Kindle books (currently 4 published, under a different name)
Online tutoring on Coconala
With these, I am able to cover my food expenses and a little bit of pocket money.
"It is not zero"
I have realized how much this supports my heart since I turned 60.
Going from zero to one was further away than I imagined
When I started my WordPress blog and note,
the first "zero to one" felt truly distant.
No traffic.
Nothing selling.
No reaction.
Honestly, I was at a loss.
However, the situation gradually began to change.
The biggest reason for this is—
that I have been purchasing paid articles that I feel are necessary for me.
Paying money is the ultimate time-saver
Things I don't understand.
Things I want to know.
Things I am struggling with.
Rather than spending months researching these things on my own, it is overwhelmingly faster to acquire the knowledge of trusted individuals by paying for it.
This is not an exaggeration.
Time is finite.
Especially for those in their 60s, I want to avoid 'taking the long way around' as much as possible.
That is precisely why
paying appropriately for necessary information is the ultimate time-saving investmentI feel.
However, there are points to be careful about
Of course, it does not mean you should just buy things blindly.
Is the content truly necessary for me right now?
Is the price reasonable?
Is the creator trustworthy?
Do they have a track record or high ratings?
It is important to assess these things calmly.
To be honest, I do not believe that paid articles from creators with only a few dozen or hundred followers and little track record are beneficial.
Numbers are not everything, but
ratings and track records serve as one criterion for judgment.
And one more thing.
Do not have excessive expectations.
You won't suddenly start making 1 million yen a month.
There is no shortcut other than steady, consistent effort.
This year's challenge and next year's goals
Within this year,
Publish a few more Kindle books
Continuously write paid articles
Create on-demand learning materials
I will execute these.
Books and learning materials become assets once created.
As long as they continue to be sold, they will generate income, even if only a little at a time.
To break free from the state of 'zero income if I stop working'.
That is my goal right now.
Even in your 60s, you can do it if you try.
Don't use age as an excuse.
But don't push yourself too hard, either.
There are things that can only be written because I am in my 60s.
I have experience.
I have failures.
I have taken detours.
We can write things that young people cannot.
There is no age limit to sharing information.
In fact, it is precisely because we are seniors that it has value.
Whether I will be the kind of person who can earn enough income to live comfortably by next year.
That depends on the efforts I make this year.
I am opening my computer again today.
Even in your 60s, there is still room for growth.
Are you wondering?
You might say, "Isn't Kumataro's note not really leading to much profit?" That is correct.
When I took early retirement, I felt lonely due to a lack of information. I suffered a significant loss.
That is why I am sharing information with my peers.
I am doing this because I want you to know that you are not alone.
