10-Minute Meals for Tired Days - [Arrangement Recipe] Sardine Pasta and Tomato Soup with Fermented Ingredients and Layered Cooking
The second week of April has come to an end.
To everyone working hard in a new environment, thank you for your efforts.
Are you starting to feel a little tired?
On days when your body feels heavy for no reason, or
days when you just can't push yourself anymore.
Even so,
I feel like eating something warm
brings my energy back.
On such days,
I let go of the idea of "cooking properly" and
rely on a gentle meal that can be made in 10 minutes.
The meal for this day consisted of two simple dishes utilizing things I had prepared earlier.
・Pasta with sardines simmered in olive oil
・Chunky vegetable tomato soup made from layered cooked vegetables
Both are mostly just a matter of heating and seasoning.
◯ Pasta filled with the umami of sardines

Slowly warm garlic and red chili pepper in olive oil to draw out the aroma.
Add onions and mushrooms, stir-fry quickly, and toss in the boiled pasta.
Season only with shio-koji (or salt).
Finally, top with the warmed, flaked sardines and
chopped parsley to finish.
It's simple, yet the richness of the sardines and mushrooms, the gentle saltiness of the fermentation, and the marriage of garlic and herbs make for a dish that is truly satisfying.
◯ Tomato soup with layered vegetables that soothes the body

Just add canned tomatoes to the layered vegetables you set aside, heat it up, and adjust the seasoning with shio-koji or salt.
That alone creates a comforting soup where the sweetness and umami of the vegetables are layered together.
The texture of the chunky vegetables is also delightful.
◯ Spring Kitchen Nourishment
Spring is a season where
the autonomic nervous system is easily swayed by environmental changes and temperature differences.
In Yakuzen (medicinal cooking), it is considered important to regulate the "circulation" of the body.
Onions and aromatic vegetables help the circulation of 'ki' (energy),
and tomatoes gently cool down the heat trapped in the body.
Fermented seasonings aid digestion and reduce the burden on the body.
That is why,
even on tired days, I think you can eat without strain, enjoy the meal, and naturally feel restored.
Just by having fermented seasonings and layered cooked vegetables on hand,
even "days when I don't try hard" are still delicious.
The small things accumulated in the kitchen
gently support myself and my family.
