Haguregumo
Dating back several decades, serialized in Big Comic
George Akiyama's "Haguregumo"
The protagonist, Kumo, is the master of a shipping wholesaler in Shinagawa-juku
In other words, while he is the leader of the kumosuke (porters) along the Tokaido road,
outwardly he is a womanizing playboy, but in reality, he is deeply compassionate and honorable,
and when the situation calls for it, his iai (quick-draw) with a cane sword is sharp,
making him a character full of charm.
This spring, it was adapted into a drama again on BS; the first episode aired last night.
Master of Yumeya, Kumo: Kuranosuke Sasaki
His plain-looking wife, Kame: Kana Kurashina
Yumeya's head clerk: Issey Ogata
The story is interesting, but... hmm, something is lacking.
Even though Kana Kurashina and Issey Ogata are bringing a good flavor to it...
That's right, Kuranosuke Sasaki lacks sex appeal.
Or rather, he doesn't have any at all.
So then, who would have that kind of sex appeal??
My recommendation: Mansai Nomura.
That slightly slick, handsome, happy-go-lucky quality,
wouldn't that be perfect for George Akiyama's world?
Thinking that, but since Kana Kurashina is in it,
I'll be watching next week too.
