I lost 12 X followers after I started note
It seems today is my 9th consecutive day posting on note.
Since I started note, the scenery around me has completely changed. One of those changes is that my number of X followers has dropped sharply.
However, that has actually led to a positive outcome.
So, today I'm going to talk about "why it was good that I lost X followers".
When I kept tweeting nothing but "note is fun!", my X followers started dropping one after another!
It started happening around the second day I began note. My X tweet views gradually decreased, and comments stopped coming in. By about the third day, followers started disappearing rapidly, and by the time I posted on the 6th day, 12 people were gone. An account that had been safely posting only about daily events and lessons suddenly started saying "note is fun!", so of course people would feel it was out of place. I know that. I know it's just for now.
Yet, what I felt was fear and self-blame. I feel like a fool all by myself.
It was right around that time that I participated in a talk event for "The Courage to Turn Your Content into Money."
During the talk by the author, Hiroomi Sueyoshi, this topic came up.
You want to move into a world different from the one you've known, but the reality that you can't do it appears right in front of you.I'm the same. I really want an answer to this! That's what I thought when I raised my hand.
I started note and posted about it on X, and my followers decreased. What does this mean?
Then, conversely, Mr. Sueyoshi asked me this question.
Weren't you told "don't stand out" when you were a child?
Exactly!!
I grew up in a rural area of Kyushu, a region where male chauvinism remained strong. Every time I stood out as a child, I was told "don't be pushy!" and I experienced that frustration many times.
Why am I the only one being called "pushy"!?
"That reality is just appearing in front of you," Mr. Sueyoshi continued. When negative emotions appear, let's toss them into the trash can one by one.
I see, that makes sense. The reality in front of me is a reproduction of the negative emotions I felt as a child. I felt as if the fog had cleared.
The fact that followers decreased because of note means "you were being read that much"!
After the event ended, I received a lot of advice from other participants as well. It seems to be a common occurrence with note, haha.
Among them, the opinion that resonated with me the most was this ⬇️
If you start note and lose followers, it means you were being read that much, so isn't there no need to feel down?
You probably don't even know who those 12 people are, right?
I think the conversation went something like that. It's a secret that when I heard that, I was so convinced that my eyes and mouth just hung wide open. You are absolutely right.
It's silly to let my heart be pulled by 12 people I don't even know, especially when I've found something I love.
What's important isn't the 12 who left, but the connections born from resonance.
Consciousness is a strange thing; it attracts a reality that perfectly matches what you focus on. I thought writing on note was fun. On the other hand, I felt that as an adult, it was embarrassing to be giddy at my age.
That's why I was bothered by the fact that my followers decreased.
But the moment I was convinced that wasn't the case and that it was okay to be myself, new connections were born. Before I knew it, I had more followers than before I started note, haha.
And someone even appeared who resonates with the articles I write!
I'm so, so, so happy!
Genuine feelings, not just superficial ones, come through loud and clear even from a computer screen.
This time, I learned firsthand that the same phenomenon can have different meanings depending on where you direct your consciousness. I see, so this is what it means.
It's okay if you lose followers. It's okay to feel anxious. The important thing is, how do you perceive that reality?
I hope this experience helps someone!
