While "winning outfit" can mean different things depending on the situation...
it varies, doesn't it?

For example, when you go to see
your favorite artist's live concert once a year.

Attire for attending a live concert

That's right.

Actually, today I am going to see
the "Katsushika Trio"
perform in Osaka.

When attending a live concert,
the difficult part... and what needs to be considered
is the band's audience demographic.

If you get this wrong,
you'll stand out as a "weirdo."

Well, it wouldn't really matter
if I stood out, but
that's not my style.

Yes, I want to express my personality
without standing out too much.

To begin with, what is the audience like?

The "Katsushika Trio" is,
if you had to categorize them, jazz...
they are classified under the
"jazz fusion" label.

...but they aren't what you'd call authentic jazz.

If you go dressed too formally,
being too conscious of jazz,
you might actually stand out.

On the other hand,
they aren't rock... that's different.
And they certainly aren't hard rock.

Wearing something too funky...
or having an eccentric hairstyle
or wearing ripped jeans,
would likely make me stand out.

The versatile "Otaku Style"

The safest bet is
the so-called "Otaku Style."

To explain what that is,
it means wearing the official merchandise T-shirt
that was sold during last year's tour.

And for the bottom, just some jeans.

Actually, based on my experience
going to the Katsushika Trio concerts
up until last year...

I have the impression that
quite a few people
wear this kind of
"somewhat otaku-like" casual style.

Oh, me?

I do have the T-shirts
from last year's and the year before's tours!

...But, since I've gained
10kg more than I used to weigh,
they are skin-tight...

No matter what,
I don't have the courage to wear
such skin-tight T-shirts.

My winning outfit

The casual winning outfit I decided on
for autumn and winter is...

Uniqlo jeans that fit just right or have a little room,
and...

on top, a navy pea coat
over a black turtleneck.

...That was it.
By the way, I also wore that outfit
when I took the administrative scrivener exam five years ago.

However, as I've said many times,
I've gained 10kg since then.

The skinny jeans that used to have room
are now skin-tight.
The slightly stylish pea coat
is probably the same.

Wearing clothes that fit just right is
the foundation of fashion, but...

There is nothing more unrefined
than forcing yourself to wear
something that is too tight.

So, what should I do?

I guess I have no choice but to go
with my everyday jeans...

Oh, the brand of jeans is
Uniqlo, of course.

As for the top, I'll manage to
choose something that I can
wear for now.

at the very last minute.
