Paper Airplane Descending ~Chronicles of Black and White Side Story 2~ After the Emperor's Only Love
Synopsis
The Kingdom of the Sky.
Upon her coronation, Yukinomiya VII merged with the then-in-development
Good Governance-Inducing Emperor Suit
to become Emperor Nishinofu VII.
However, due to the complexity of the system,
she required a recovery period to be released from the suit,
and during this recovery, an attack by an anti-emperor faction occurred.
Thanks to the quick thinking of her life-support officer, she escaped to a safe space-time,
where she spent an ordinary day with a young man she met there.
However, she was soon attacked by pursuers.
With the young man's help, she escaped again and returned to her original space-time.
(This concludes the story of 'Side Story 1: Yuki-onna')
Time passes, and VII is traveling through space.
She visits the place where she has memories of the young man.
What are the thoughts crossing her mind...?
Eventually, she departs into the cosmos.

That day, surely
the two of us were here

what remains in this body
is this...

To our sky.”

The End
This is the continuation of
“Yuki-onna ~Chronicles of Black and White Side Story~,”
which depicts the Emperor's only love.
A rebellion occurred, and the Emperor moved through space-time as a temporary evacuation.
It was just a one-day event with a young man she met there.
This time, I have depicted the continuation from the perspective of Yuki-onna (the Emperor).
She has grown up a little, too.
(As for the art, it is just one single piece.)
It has been about five years since I drew the previous work.
(I am surprised myself)
A while ago, using the CAD I usually use for work,
I drew a manga picture book called 'Maruneko'.
This time, I tried an expression of layering
tracing paper drawings over a background painting (watercolor).
For me, working in architectural design,
tracing paper used to be very familiar.
I used it every day for sketches and esquisses at work.
I would keep layering it on top.
As I did so, the form of the plan or design would emerge.
I would keep pulling out the roll of tracing paper
and layering sketches on top of it.
This time, I pulled out that nostalgic tracing paper and used it.
For the first time in a very long time.
(Though it is sheets, not a roll)
It has also been a long time since my hands turned pitch black from pencil lead!
(For some reason, I am happy about that)
I have tried the technique of drawing on tracing paper, which I used every day for work,
and layering it over a background painting several times since I was young.
Thinking things like, 'This looks kind of like anime, it's interesting.'
I remembered that and tried it this time.
It had been a long time since I drew a new picture, too.
When I was young, I had a strong longing to draw (create) manga and anime,
but in reality, due to practical problems and challenges,
I did not pursue that path.
Now, due to my age, I sometimes cannot see the pen tip (brush tip) well.
(Hey!)
I am drawing these days while keenly feeling that I should do things like this while I still can.
When I walk through the world of note,
I actually meet people who seem to have the same thoughts.
Whether it is art, manga, photography, or writing.
It is a series of 'Wow, this person is amazing.'
It makes me think, 'Well, maybe I'll try drawing a little bit too.'
Thank you always, everyone.
Creative Awards.
I didn't really have the feeling of having drawn a manga,
so last year I submitted it to the All-Category division.
I am wondering what to do this year.
Thank you for staying with me this far today as well.
And, it is incredibly hot today, too hot.
Everyone, let's be careful about heatstroke and such.
Well then, until next time.
(Haha, writing a romance story at this age is hard)
July 7, 2025 (Mon)
I have added the synopsis to the beginning. The content of the work has not been changed.
“Side Story: Yuki-onna” is
what I submitted to the All-Category division of last year's 2024 Creative Awards.
